As long as there has been sport, there has been heckling. It adds to the atmosphere and drama (and home field advantage). These players better get used to it if they want to play professionally. Heck, they are all going to be paid soon for playing in college anyway so amateur status won’t apply. However, I will say that parents that heckle are just pathetic.

There has been a great disturbance in the force the past number of weeks. Word has traveled near and far that a force all powerful has been gaining speed and is ready to be unleashed tonight. Be that as it may, waiting in the forces way is a giant who seeks to regain its glory of yesteryear. Will the maleficent force rein supreme or will the giant stand tall once again? Soon in a galaxy not far away, we will find out!

    P.S.

    Go UNC!

    Let's GO Stanford!
UNC has a deeper, more experienced bench than maybe any other team. I know Emily Fox is a great player, but the UNC team with their 5 player sub rotations is more equipped to handle an injury than maybe any other team in the tournament. They'll be strong tonight and it should be a great game.

Dorrance sounded like he was coaching Little Sisters of the Poor when talking about the game and Fox's injury. Yes, that's a tough loss--and, yes, Stanford is outstanding--but he's also got more depth of talent than any team in America. Nobody has more good players than he has.

Haley wins the award for most hair...it's a lot.

Nice match so far - good to see UNC possessing and attacking. It was all Cardinal early on......

Maycee Bell really reminds me of what Malia Berkely looked like as a freshmen, bright future Bell has.

Excellent first half by UNC. The heels have a lot of athletes and they pressed the ball very effectively, worked HARD, and didn't give a talented Stanford bunch much room to operate at all. And that's a must as we saw when Smith got a little room to run at defender and shoot--and it was only Dickey's brilliant save that kept the half scoreless. UNC had a decent amount of the ball but weren't able to get any good shots on goal--and that's the challenge and problem of playing Stanford. North Carolina will be encouraged but they still face a mighty second-half challenge.

As an UCLA alumnus, please beat the Cardinal UNC, pretty please? I don’t want Stanford getting too far ahead of us in championships. :p:sneaky:

Referee is letting them play - good no call on the hoped for foul for Standord's Smith in the box.

Dickey with another big save for UNC. and Russo might have scored for the Heels had Girma not made that nice stop. It's been an excellent match. UNC with a chance to pull the upset.

Great effort by UNC, which was one save/miss away from winning it. Congrats to Stanford--but let me say the Stanford keeper is an exceedingly obnoxious young woman. I get being competitive, but she's a bit over the top.

Welp..... UNC can't get it done. You want something done, you get the Bruins to take care of business. See you next season Stanford, we are gunning for you and we will win someday.

BTW, that Stanford goalkeeper is super arrogant and annoying the eff out of me, or maybe I'm just sore. Who knows, I would give anything to get her ego checked though.

Interesting that Dorrance had a freshman reserve taking a key PK. She must be pretty good at it--but her miss was costly. Great match.

Playing without their AA defender, UNC showed Stanford just how hard it is to stand up to that kind of pressure.

    Kudos to Stanford and UNC!

Well, tell Cromwell to become acquainted with a 4-back system next year; might come in handy when playing Stanford.

Yeah seriously, I don't understand how that was supposed to compete with the best offense in the country. Maybe time for the Cromwell era to end....
