Not in the squad for the league match either.

At this point, instead of blaming everyone else, maybe it just might be that he’s not good enough to play STVV...

Sigh..... How much of it do you think is his personality and the other his lack of ability? To not even make the bench though?

the move hasn't worked out but i really don't get the narrative Lee SW has attitude problems or his ego is too high BS.

he hasn't caused any issue as professional footballer. he had a fall out with previous manager & even temp manager atm it seems (yes, they argued about playing time i believe in private)...

but that has a lot more to do with Brys & etc unhappy with DMM/board constantly purchasing "Asian" players. the club is full of drama atm and some ... jsut ... aren't Lee SWs fault.

edit - i mean, apparently... they gave Lee SW a 2 hr notice to play w/ reserves on one day and etc.. the F is that?

Well Brys isn’t the manager anymore... but I guess it’s a vicious cycle of not playing and not being match fit.

Players with worse egos than him were able to have decent careers, like Joey Barton.

He just needs a club where he is good enough to start no matter what imo.

how DMM wants to operate & previous manager (temp manager too.. who was a staff under Brys) wanted to run the club... different ideas

    https://www.voetbalbelgie.be/specia...een-schuldenvrij-stvv-met-ambitie/2019/11/15/

also, temp manager says "Lee SW can't get over Asian football style".. or something in that context? honestly? the F? straight up nonsense excuse & straight up racist imo

    https://sports.v.daum.net/v/20191207120829976

anyways, imo.. Lee SW spoke up in private (of which, player himself admitted as well). more or less, probably punished for it (manager leaking BS shit afterwards to media as if he is trouble maker)

i don't believe such clubs exists for anyone at any club. at the same time, no matter how much you want to deny it... Lee SW was getting reg mins in Serie B at least (of which, quality of football is probably higher over Belgium imo).

Never said he didn't get enough minutes. What I said was that towards the end of the season he was benched and he didn't play much in the playoffs.

Whatever, time will tell. But I do think if he really was that good he would have showcased it during the friendlies and reserves matches he played in.

We will see when the new manager comes in.

would it have mattered? if a manager hates you, it makes no difference imo. i used to think "if you are good enough, no matter what.. you will eventually find a place to shine".

not anymore. it requires a lot of luck & right circumstance even for "good" players imo.

anyways, as I often say about you.... you are way too harsh on Korean (well, Asian players in general imo) players.. often .. underrating them (including achievements). ;)

That's not my point. My point is that if he was really as good as you say, then he should have been owning these friendly/reserves matches, but he didn't. My point is that it's probably a combination of both rather than just purely being "unlucky" as you say.

Not sure how the last point relates to what I said, but sure, you do you I do me.

we have no idea how he played in the friendlies. the reports on it are generic at best except in one game he made a stupid tackle.

also, you didn't really delve into "probably a combination of both" in majority of your points. also, i didn't say it was all purely being "unlucky". i said it "requires" a lot of luck too

again, reserves. basically.. last min notice to say he plays in the reserves... :coffee:

edit - last comment is generic comment on your comments/opinions in general.

Fair point, but I don't think there is much to substantiate that he is being wrongly being left out of the squad either despite being good enough.

And can say the same about you, you didn't mention it being a combination either so...

On your last point, sure, whatever floats your boat.

depends on how you look at it. is he not good enough for Belgium? i honestly don't know since he hasn't played & i haven't seen him play...

wrongly being left out? to a degree, based on comments from his manager & temp manager... I can say, somewhat.. yes. as he isn't even getting an opportunity to see if he is good enough or not.

as for not combination of either.. whatever part

1- again, i stated it takes a lot of "luck" even for good players.
2 - really, nothing to make comment on his Belgium career to say much.. thus, my reason for .. just not saying anything at all in general for most of this thread.

if a new manager comes, gets a fresh start without prejudice.... and he still rots, I will agree he just isn't "good enough". til than, no point of making statements or "mock" him just for kicks like some in here do.

He deserves this. Terrible attitude, behaviour towards the game. I don’t get how people are backing this kid up.
There are CLEAR signs that make him so unlikeable. First, he hires his brother as his agent, cmon... look at his brother’s Instagram too see what kind of douche he is. Secondly, his attitude on the pitch. Missing a shot and going beserk, constantly touching the hair, etc. Lastly, his goal celebration against japan in the Asian games was the one where I knew this kid was a wasteman.

He’s a very unlikeable player from an old school perspective, maybe that’s why I dislike him. Maybe the reason why managers don’t like and play him.

Sorry but this is ... not an evidence to say he has "attitude" problems

Plenty of footballers hire their siblings or other family members as their agents. This isn't new...at ALL.

Going berserk after missing a shot (including when teammates don't pass it to them when they believe they are in better position)? Tell me.. who doesn't? Son does it often too.. as do plenty of football players in general. Also, the whole hair BS.... again (which was few yrs ago.. when he was youth player.. isn't it?).. just look at SON HM and what he does with his hair.

And really? Because the way he celebrated his "wonder goal" against Japan?? Somehow that is now... used.. against him?? o_O

If you guys are judging players based on "instagram" posts... well, it can't be helped. I just find that ridiculous...

edit - at this rate, are ppl going to say Lee Kangin has attitude problems? He ignored to 1 - sign an autograph when some random kid asked for it 2- failed to celebrate a win & applaud the fans

edit #2 - the issue w/ manager and Lee SW started before the terrible tackle (as their private argument was before it too)...however, i do find his reason on recent article is full of nonsense too (also, STVV played friendlies after the stupid tackle)

anyways, club was full of drama before Lee SW joined the club at the last min of transfer window. Brys & current temp manager.. reasons.. are ... just full of hypocrisy too.

from he is Barca prima donna to now.. he is TOO Asian? also.. everything is fine w/ him but "he needs to adjust"? just don't make sense
