He's been playing well, and can't get a call from Greg. Rather take a look at Roldan for the umpteenth time.

Wiiiiiilling to go out on a limb and say "but he's just coming off an injury, was injured last time he was called up and missed a lot of time until recently with his club" but, ah, yeah, would've loved to have had him in...

Very bad result for Derby, losing to Charlton 3-0. This season they look unlikely to climb into playoff territory, and Holmes is not the sane man either, not since that quadriceps injury.

Starts on the wing today. I've noticed that's not an infrequent thing. Is it possible he may just be a winger instead of a CM?

Even wide he doesn't play as a winger, more as a wide attacking mid.

He might nor be playing as a winger. He might be playing a similar role to what GGG has his central mids playing.

He and Green are the 2 YAs who haven’t been part of GGG’s plans I’d most like to see.

Wow... MOTM in a 1-0 win and he didn't get the goal or the assist? Must have been one heck of a performance.

I've actually known Duane for a pretty good time dating back to his academy days at Huddersfield.

He was developed right in the sense that he's always had the creativity, skill, and quickness, but Huddersfield instead drilled a defensive side into him that is remarkable. He was never going to be a defensive midfielder in the long run but he played that position for over a season. It taught him a lot about that aspect of the game and it has worked very well for him in the Championship.

Even when Holmes is having an off game, he can get by on his defense and scrappy style of play. I love players like that. It's also why I rate Paul Arriola higher than most too. He'll cover a ton of ground in a game to put in a solid shift on both sides.

    Holmes is very well rounded

Yank on Yank action in 40 minutes: Holmes (Derby #11) away at Ream (Fulham #4).

    It's gonna be good.

Nice move by Duane, totally mishit by the forward.

PS: Must be noted Cocu replaced Martin, the striker, with Whittaker, the 18 year old just back from injury. Martin wasn't injured, just utterly ineffective. Whittaker is not any better.
