Doen't winning the qualifying phase with the best record, GF, GA and GD count in the seedings when it comes time for the draw? Or do they use the World and/or UEFA rankings now?

With the current streak, Italy should rise pretty high in the WC rankings.

I get why people aren't completely convinced. We have always been used to seeing Azzurri players have key roles on Champions League sides. This team is young and lacking some experience.

And, you know what? That is OK. Maybe it is good that we have a blank slate. Maybe it is good that we aren't bound by the stereotypes of our past. Past Azzurri teams would NEVER have a +37 goal differential. Why? Their mentality was to score, converse energy, and counter.

You know another way of scoring a lot and controlling the game? Controlling the midfield. There is a lot of talent there. Barella is a complete midfielder...BIG MISTAKE for Juve not signing him. Zaniolo has taken a big step forward this year and is lethal making runs to the box. Great finisher. Chiesa's speed is a massive problem for defenses. Verratti we know his talent. Jorginho is still a concern for me in a 3 man midfield against athletic teams. However, Mancini really trusts him. Then you have other talented guys like Tonali, Sensi and Pellegrini. There is a lot of skill on the ball with that group.

I think Sensi at his best might be our best midfielder. He is so talented and I look forward to seeing him more with our team. Hope he gets healthy soon.

UEFA have confirmed the seeding for the Euro 2020 draw on November 30, as Italy risk a Group of Death with France and Portugal.

I would like to avoid France in the early stage. Any group predictions?

I have a feeling we'll get an easier group. I think our bad luck has ended with Azzurri so far

The good thing about facing a tough team in the group stage is you at least know you won't get drawn against that team again at the beginning of the knockout phase.

Looking at the starters and subs from the team that beat Armenia 9-1, it seems this team can remain intact for a while.

    Bonucci 33 Sirigu (GK) 33 , Izzo 28 , Meret 23 (GK) Orsolini 23 , Di Lorenzo 26 , Biraghi 27 , Tonali 20 , Jorginho 28 , Zaniolo 20 , Romagnoli 25 , Chiesa 22 , Immobile 30 , Barella 23

You have Bonucci 33 Sirigu (GK) 33 Immobile 30 , Jorginho 28 and (maybe) Biraghi 27 who are probably at their last go around the national team but then you have a starting GK in Gianluigi Donnarumma who didn't play and who will be only 21 at the Euro. That is pretty young. Hypothetically, if he lasts as long as Buffon did, that is another 20 years.

I'm sure some will fade and other ones will emerge but looking at the younger age of some of these guys, I think a core group of players could very well last for a few WC and Euro cycles.

Does anyone still want Balotelli in the squad? I think the latest dustup with Grosso should finally seal his fate with the national team.

I don't think Balotelli, based on form (which is how player are now measured) really deserves a callup.

Belotti and Barella both injured today. They are saying it might be a hamstring with Barella.

He'd be a major star in MLS. The marketers in America would have a field day.

I’d say the Croat midfield last World Cup was a pretty good technical midfield as well.
