Tenerife has gone into a shell, changing an AM for a CM at the half and playing a 4-4-1 trying to keep it 0-0.

Shaq is well covered by Borja and Undabarrena, so the attacks on his side seldom get to him.

Girona given a very soft PK, foul of Sipcic on Stuani who scores.

Tenerife continues their unlucky streak, and are losing 1-0 now.

PS: Commentators are right, it was not a penalty. They've also been commenting on the bad luck Tenerife has had this season so far. Today (first game I watch, cuz of Shaq) I've noticed the ref not giving them anything.

72' and Shaq has done fine but he's been a bit baby-sat by the midfielders. I get the feeling they don't trust him much.

For the goal, Estuani entered on his side but Shaq was marking the guy who made the pass, so it was up to Sipcic to follow the Girona striker. Could he have done more? I don't think so.

Has he done enough to get more games? IMO yes, he should get more. But Tenerife does zonal marking, which is hard for a guy who seldom plays. Maybe that's why Undabarrena (the guy who came in at the half) has always kept an eye on him.

Moore just had the chance to tie it from a great cross by Suso Santana, but shot it far above the bar. :(

Tenerife attacking on the right again, Santana's awesome pass to Moore who crosses but the ball arrives too late to Borja, who had already ran past it.

Muñoz has been playing RB, with Shaw as RW, and seems our guy has a very good understanding with Santana, who's playing centrally.

PS: Moore is playing because Perez has a knock. Commentators praising Moore, but still expecting Perez to regain his spot once he's back.

PPS: Moore cross to Borja's head, but he didn't get to it. Good ball though.

Chance after chance for the Girona, Tenerife lucky to finish 1-0 only. Moore did fine, specially in attack in the second half, although in defense it seems he's not as trusted. Luis Perez, the starting RB, is unlikely to be dethroned, and since he's young (24), he's not someone who needs to be replaced in-game.

So, as soon as he's back, we're unlikely to see much of Shaq.

He's back at right back, playing against Cádiz.

PS: Tenerife needs to get at least a point today at home to leave the relegation zone.

PPS: 14' Tenerife scores! Between Suso and Mierez, who gets the assist.

Some background: Cadiz is #1 in La Segunda, and arch-favorite to get promoted. They have lost only two games so far, and their attack on the left (Mari & Sánchez Ponce) is considered the most dangerous in the league.

Moore & Undabarrena are trying to stop it, and doing it well so far. Moore is also helping the attack. I must say it's been his best 20 minutes so far.

But he does tire. We'll see.

PS: 35' Cádiz ties it. I wasn't watching at that moment, so no idea if Shaq was involved. Seems unlikely, since the goal came from the right (Tenerife's left).

Getting praise by the Spanish commentators, after helping the attack on the right and making a good pass: "partido completo de Shaq Moore... le hacía falta al Americano, que había sido inconsistente..."

= Good game by Shaq Moore, he needed that, so far he had been inconsistent....

Shaq lost a dangerous ball that started an attack that could have ended badly. First mistake of his this game, as per commentary.

PS: The Spanish game is very technical, lacking some in the physical, but with guys who can trap a long pass in two inches, or drop a ball with their chest with basically no bounce. Shaq has learned to do the later, something seldom seen in Yanks Abroad.

Undabarrena, Shaq's cover, was just replaced. Spanish commentators praising Moore's stamina. Up and down all game, and still running. He has an edge in that over the Spaniards.

Best Moore game so far, still unlikely to take Luchito Pérez spot, because he has more cohesion with the team. Thing is, we don't know how long he's going to be away.

It's only a second division, but at this point I wouldn't mind keeping an eye on this guy.

The goal came (0:24) came on a deflected free kick that the man he was marking volleyed it despite Moore's close marking.

Looks like he could have done a bit better in the Cádiz goal. I missed the whole sequence, unfortunately. It seems there are always goals during a bathroom break.

Really glad to hear he played....and then played well! Yeah it's only second division, but second division spanish soccer can be pretty damn good. Like you were saying these players are all very very technical. I hate to do the league comparision thing but, I would say teams are more impressive in this league than say 2 Bundesliga which, i feel more Americans are familiar with.

Is Shaq age eligible for the U23 squad? If he is it's too bad he wasn't called up with their games being in the Canary islands...

Unfortunately, he’s just above the age eligibility by two months.

At left back, according to Fotmob. Anyone know if that's accurate?

It is...he looked pretty composed and got more assertive as the game went on. Clearly not natural using the left but I thought he helped make Tenerife tough to break down until they were able to get on the front door after the red card.

Making a deep run in the Copa is going to be consolation for getting relegated to the Segunda B.
