I dont understand what's the hurry. He barely has started his NT career. Duvan Zapata has now two great seasons under his belt and he is almost 30. Morelos should be given lots of time, sooner or later he will deliver.

Jackson did not have problems only in the NT, he played poorly in most big club matches and was too nervous to take a good penalty kick. Jackson was really good, but didn't ahve the nerves of Falcao.

it's not necessarily a hurry/rush for Morelos - but these two friendlies are as good as it gets in terms recent club form and current depth chart for his position...

i guess with attacking players, there is always that initial hope at the start of a season or new team that you want the player to do well. eventually, the mindset changes from "i hope he can score/set up goals at the club level" to "i know what to expect from ___ at the club level....can he do it for the NT?"

I know a few of us here were on the Duvan bandwagon early on and he could have been a strong compliment to Bacca/Falcao during the last WCQ campaign. His 2 appearances were met with minimal criticisms. instead Pekerman went with guys like Teo and Roger was used up front on a few occassions...

a shame about Jackson - we never got his Porto form and I felt we missed out on the best version of Bacca too. the dude was white hot for Sevilla 2013-2015 and the NT didn't really capitalize off that as well or vice versa....

if Morelos becomes 1/5th the player Jackson was then we should all be happy.

pekerman just didn’t play a formation that worked for him

At least Jackson can live with the fact he has 2 WC goals.

    haha - good question

    James - 6 (2014)
    Mina - 3 (2018)
    Redin - 2 (1990)
    Valencia - 2 (1994)
    Quintero - 2 (2014, 2018)
    Cuadrado - 2 (2014, 2018)
    Jackson - 2 (2014)

Although on a goals per minute basis, Jackson could be considered #3 on the list?

The way I see it, Morelos Will leave in the summer transfer Window. Rangers aren't that well financially to keep rejecting offers for him.

sadly Gerrard said he will only leave for Liverpool. If he goes to a mid table club and brings Morelos with him that would be awesome

Rangers will sprint to the bank this summer. They have been smart with Morelos, they know they have a great asset and they are going to do their best to max out his value. The money they are likely to get from Morelos will be a big boost to them, and they can buy multiple players that will improve them.

If they continue on their run in Europa, qualify for CL prestages and can sell 2-3 players, they'll be in the black in no time. If I were a Rangers scout I would already have at least 2-3 up and coming Colombians in my reserves.

Morelos on fire again, two goals against Feyenoord. Both of them headers. He is playing really well.

Edit. Now Sinisterra scores! Good day for Colombians.

He does everything, and scores every type of goal. Man I hope he goes to Aston Villa, usually hate our players going to English Clubs but they actually play really well and attack like crazy. He'd be a perfect fit for them and make them that much stronger, Grealish has really turned into a damn good player.

Hope a team takes a chance on him. Would be best if Gerard left and takes him.

thats the same for most leagues

outside of PSG what’s in France? Most leagues are 2 team tournaments and a bunch of feeder teams

Scottish teams actually have one of the best UEFA coefficients this year. The Scottish league is definitely pretty week on the whole, but Celtic and Rangers play pretty well and Celtic handled Lazio home and away. It doesn't matter anyways because Morelos has reproduced performances against good teams consistently over the last year, and he's not just a goal poacher but actually does a lot of other good stuff for a team. His numbers are definitely going to be inflated playing in Scotland, but he's basically doing absolutely everything he can in Europe and in Scotland. There's no question he can cut it in bigger leagues and its a matter of time, the guy has a very good all round game and imo should be solidified as Duvan's back up even if and when Falcao comes back from injury.

It’s all irrelevant until he does it in yellow

I just hope he isn’t another Muriel who at 28 we still waiting for him to have a breakout season. Morelos at least super consistent at his club. Teo might not be the best player in the world but dude was super consistent and at least gave you a 7/10 performance.

Muriel is a 10 or a 2. He doesn’t have ok games. So far Morelos in yellow at least sucks hopefully he gets better once Duvan comes back and less pressure is on him to be the #9
