Robbie Robinson (08) at Clemson named ACC O-POY.

15 goals and 9 assists in 15 games.

From SC, so not in a DA footprint.

What did he do this past summer? I see he spent the 2018 season with Dutch Lions.

Also, what if UK's best athletes played basketball?

Couple of nice individual goals from Robbie Robinson in the playoffs so far.

Now has 18 despite missing a couple games due to injury.

First one was particular good with the turn, run and finish.

As he is balling out in the tournament it should be noted that he is a 98 not an 08. If an 11 year old was an All-ACC players European clubs would be throwing him millions already.

Didn't realize this thread existed. I posted this in the U20 thread too.

Potential U20 MNT candidates from college

    F Gabe Segal, Stanford
    M Aidan Morris, Indiana
    GK Patrick Schulte, Saint Louis
    D Nico Benalcazar, Wake Forest
    GK Kristopher Shakes, Penn State
    D Blake Malone, North Carolina
    F Liam Butts, Penn State
    GK Owen Finnerty, Michigan

Not including the blurbs written, but interesting article on TopDrawer. Stanford, Wake Forest, have gotten to the Elite 8 so far.

Hard to know what a nonexistent new U20 coach might do, though generally it's comparatively rare that collegians contribute significantly at the U20 level these days. Of course. (And Justin Rennicks is here to prove me wrong!)

I don't have much to say about those names above, but I will say that Segal doesn't appear to be HG-eligible anywhere (despite, I think, some guest time with DCU) and, of course, Stanford players seem to do their own thing. I'm not aware of any past overseas tryouts though I may well have missed/be forgetting something.

I assume Morris is HG-eligible for the Crew, Benalcazar for NYCFC, Butts for Atlanta, and Malone for Seattle.

I guess it's a bit different for GKs, though that may be changing. In any case, I figure Shakes is HG-eligible for Philly. Schulte played for St. Louis FC; maybe they'd like to sign him, I dunno. Finnerty, I guess, is a free agent.

Benalcazar would be a great LB for a cycle if this upcoming u20 group didn't have Kobe, Sousa, Gomez, Bello, and Tolkin already.

Glad to hear it. I'm old enough to remember a time when the U.S. was only producing 5 great left backs per U20 cycle!

I could be wrong but it appears he's been lining up as a RCB in most games he's played. At least that's what the twitter line ups for Wake Forest say.

He played LB for most of his youth career with NYCFC. I didn't know that he was playing CB for WF. I'll take your word for it.

He plays LB and CB. I think he’s more of a CB, but he can play either well enough.

For NYCFC he could be either. If I'm NYCFC I am also looking at signing Veljko Petkovic and Dante Polvara before both of them graduate.

I don’t want them signing any players out of college until they secure a USL team. They have too many HGP’s already this season who need to play in USL and no USL affiliate for them to play with.

I also say that as someone who thinks college soccer past one year is terrible for development, but what’s even worse is having nowhere to play or having to play youth games as a professional because the team hasn’t secured a USL affiliate yet.

I would not be shocked to see an annoucement of a partnership between NYCFC and Queensboro FC by 2021. Queensboro would be a local NY area team owned by David Villa and playing in the USL Championship and not league one. It would be a perfect match.

He seemed to have a decent season for an OK team (which, by the way, also featured Jim and Carin Gabarra's kid, as well as Tonny Temple).

I watched a lot of him this season, he was given A LOT of freedom in Keiffer's system. Kieffer did not give a lot of minutes to Tonny Temple for some reason. Kendall Edwards was pretty solid, he started earning more minutes towards the end of the year.
