That's a wrong question. The right one "Would they start over Horwath?". The answer "May be". Horwath isn't unquestionably ahead of them.
Only Cinci and Montreal gave up more goals than New England did this year in the Eastern Conference. Horvath is a year removed from losing and earning his starting spot back at Belgium's best club. Yeah he's better than Matt Turner. Guzan at this point is clearly a leadership pick, he's a guy that is there for backroom cohesion, etc. I'm not saying the kid should be starting, but the fact that we're holding the fact that Brugge went out and bought the best Belgium goalkeeper who would probably be our undisputed starter against Horvath is ridiculous.
Turner didn't start under Friedel, that's when NER goals against came. He is better than Horwath BTW.
Wouldn't he prefer making a move in January or would the loan be far more beneficial toward getting a summer move?
Matt Turner also overperformed xG by 8.3 goals, best in MLS, so the fact that he did so well while being behind such a shitty defense is an argument in his favor, not to his detriment.
A Simon Mignolet own goal was the difference today, as Brugge lose their first game of the league campaign, 2-1 away to Royal Antwerp. Horvath was on the bench.

2️⃣ maanden op rij! 😱🙌 @SMignolet is opnieuw jullie Proximus #POTM! pic.twitter.com/ZnMLeXroaB— Club Brugge KV (@ClubBrugge) November 12, 2019
Mignolet would have to score an own-goal each game for the next three months to lose some of the love the fans have for him. Nationality still matters.
Over the period of 11 days in early December, they have 4 matches. 1 cup match, 2 league and 1 CL game. Horvath should have the cup match and perhaps they'll give him the final CL match at home vs Madrid.
You are joking I assume, Matt Turner vs. Horvath a kid who is a year younger than Turner but has already played in 20 Europa League and Champions League games and won 2 league titles. What has Turner accomplished ? Oh he had one decent season with NE Revs LOL Get a grip people !
They are jerks and it’s a business. They had a big windfall from selling players over the summer and Mignolet called them as he wanted to move back to Belgium raise his family (just has a new baby 2 weeks ago) and he wanted to play Champions League so that narrowed it down to one team Brugge. Ethan got caught up in this dynamic. No matter if the keeper would have been Horvath, Steffen, Johnsonor Turner they all would have been moved to the # 2. Ethan will move in January as they know he needs to be a # 1 elsewhere (JPL, Netherlands or Denmark) or #2 on a Bundesliga or Ligue 1 team with promise to compete for #1 spot for fall 2020 season.

His agent is and has been working this for past couple months and a decision will be made by 1/1 so he can start winter training in January with his new Club.
I have a strange habbit of watching games instead of checking Transfermarket. Turner is a better keeper.
On average good. Nothing outstanding. Very good shotstopper. Doesn't control penalty box well. Suspect on high crosses despite his height.
Well I suppose the world market will sort all of this out for us. With the transfer window coming up, Turner and Horvath (and everyone else) should get placed to their appropriate level.
That's a really bad argument to make when one player has an EU passport and the other does not. And it assumes that club player evaluations are never wrong, which is silly.
