This will make a difference at all. The difference is that in the final will arrive 2 teams weaker than Japan that Japan should have ripped apart instead of "whocares" when it didn't matters vs Italy and then again "whocares" in the whole 1st half vs SK till it matters but it was too late.
Disappointing but this was a good tournament. Was surprised by how well they played. Didn't think much of guys like Tagawa before the tournament but he was a surprise. Remember, this is all about youth development imo. Since 2010... when it matters in senior competition Japan - 2011 Asian Cup winner, made it to knock out rd twice (2010 & 2018) Korea - knock out to rd 16 once in 2010
Ecuador defeated USA and made it to the semifinals. Now, 2 teams which could have been beaten by Japan made it to SFs, just waiting for the South Koreans to complete the trio.
No one can deny that youth development is one of the cornerstones of such tournaments, but if your players could not finish off a match they were dictating then it is a big problem in the making. This shows the lack of winning attitude of the players. Moreover, when the coach could not get the best of a match like this by playing an almost 4-6-0 formation, with no real striker to score or create chances to his teammates, which resulted in the opponents taking the Initiative after the half-time as they realised they are facing a toothless team, and when the coach did not make any change in tactics or players after the opponents took over the momentum until it was too late, then there is something to tell about the lack of plan-B and bad in-game management by the coaching staff, a matter that if not revised by the JFA will come back to haunt JNTs in different context.
I don't have issue with any of your points but it is youth football tournament. Hopefully the players can learn from it (or perhaps not.. given the history of JFA in general) but the main goal, imo.. was achieved. Players played above expectation and that shouldn't be ignored too. As for game management & etc, yea.... Kageyama should have done better.
South Korea made it to the final, and they will face Ukraine. Both teams never won the tournament before, this tournament will witness a newly crowned champion.
Why choose as a username the name of a manga character if you hate Japan? I can't understand. Anyway I'm happy for SK but the other opponent, Ukraine, nope. I feel like it will be a tough match with a lot of brutal tackles. Let's hope SK win. It's time for the world of football to recognize how much the Asian teams (all) had improved.
Nobody cares about this U20 tournament in France (since they are eliminated lol) They'll continue to overrate african teams while Japan = Korea = China = slitty-eyes, I can assure you of that.
Not very impressed with this GK in the Toulon Cup. I think Osako and Wakahara might be better replacement options for Kawashima than him imo.
Toulon is the biggest Youth Tournament after the WC, so it's very highly rated. For some scouts and clubs it's maybe bigger then the World Cup.
