Never be in doubt! The 'youth and experience' combo is striking in the roster. Will the first-choice XI look very different even in a year or two? - https://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/canada-womens-world-cup-roster-1.5149968 (Archived) "The roster totals 1,368 caps with 609 belonging to Sinclair (282), Sophie Schmidt (184) and Desiree Scott (143). In all, 12 players have 50 or more caps. There are also eight players with 20 or fewer caps." - (CBC)

(PLSQ.ca) In the realm of extant leagues, the champion women's club of Québec is CS Monteuil, who won 4-0 over Mont-Royal Outremont in the final in August. The 2019 National Championships in October will be played out east in St John's, Newfoundland. A lot of games in southern Ontario have been streamed by League 1 Ontario. The forum's @RocketRobin was at the League 1 Ontario final, and posted a really extremely good match report: L1O Women's Final Oakville Blue Devils Women 0 FC London Women 1 - www.rocketrobinsoccerintoronto.com/reports19/19l1o108.htm ^ Read this really extremely good match report

Y'know, for their next game, Canada could offer to play one friendly against a lesser-known Concacaf nation.... Just kidding, they would never ever do that Jubilee Trophy 2019 The national club soccer championship, oh IT'S ON Group A Scarborough GS United, Ontario Edmonton Northwest, Alberta Holy Cross Avalon Ford, Newfoundland/Labrador (NL1) Feildians AA, Newfoundland/Labrador (NL2) Group B Coquitlam Metro Ford, B.C. Northwest Winnipeg, Manitoba Royal Select Beauport, Québec United Dartmouth FC, Nova Scotia Most games are being streamed on Canada Soccer's page, live from St John's in Newfoundland, so let's dive in: Day 1 Jubilee Trophy | Scarborough (ON) vs Feildians (NL2) | Oct. 9 - www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScP1PT9Czfw The other live games on Wednesday were the representatives of Quebec vs Nova Scotia and NL1 vs Alberta. Then, on Thursday: Day 2 Jubilee Trophy | Coquitlam (BC) vs United Dartmouth (NS) | Oct. 10 - www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VFS147q-Bs Also on Thursday, the clubs of Quebec vs Manitoba, and NL1 vs NL2. The tournament continues on Saturday with the last group games.
Interesting list of teams for the national amateur championship... I know the timing of the competition basically locks out the UWS & WPSL sides, but there are no representatives from L1O or PLSQ either. I guess it makes kinda sense if you consider those four leagues as semi-pro or pro-am, so they wouldn't be eligible for an amateur championship... but then it begs the question as to why there isn't a competition for those teams when there is one for amateur sides.
Yeah, I don't understand that. Perhaps Canada Soccer felt they needed to limit the tournament's intensity because it was dangerously high. Day 4 The group winners advanced to the final - Group A was won by Edmonton Northwest United, beating the home team Feildians in a group decider. Group B went to Québec's Royal Select Beauport, reaching the final after they missed out last year. They won 2-0 to overcome Coquitlam Metro Ford (BC) in the group. Coquitlam won the 3rd-place game the next day (the day of highest intensity), with Olivia Aguiar's late goal. Then, the final was a contest of Alberta and Québec: Day 5 Final: Edmonton Northwest United vs Royal Sélect Beauport www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZHecfsWpxs&t=2m20s - Finals day report, CanadaSoccer.com (Archived) - Match report, Journal de Québec (Archived) Canada WNT are confirmed for November's 4-nation friendly cup in China, the Yongchuan International Tournament - kicking off with a semi-final against Brazil (Nov 7) then a game against China or New Zealand (Nov 10).

I mentioned this on Twitter, but the WNT's recent struggles - and MNT's recent successes - kinda suggest that Herdman is a *really* good coach, and any team with him at the helm punches above where they otherwise should.
Alphonso Davis is beginning to look more like a superstar(for Canada) rather than Pullisic for the US/ on the woso side, seems like Canada is trying to pull away from their southern neighbors in the way of doing things, but as they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks! and so far have stumbled badly. CA coach Moeller tries to play a more refined, passing/technical compared to Herdman's more rough n tumble physical style, but so far just has induced sleep into fans & players alike, Ive seen one comment that said "Canada was the most boring team to watch"(in the last WC) they seem to want to bring up their youth through a few pro clubs like they do in Europe(compared to our method through mom & pop select) but that brought misreable results as their Vancouver Whitecaps dominated squad couldn't get out of the u20 Concacaf to qualify for the WC now they want to have a pro league, but it will take them years to be on par with the more established Primera.FA. FFI & Bundesliga and will look more like the weaker leagues out of Europe who's rosters mainly are 18-22 year olds. That would basically end Canadians playing college ball, unless its an esentially a summer break league ala UWS/WPSL without giving those players salaries or within the confines of NCAA rules

looks like Moeller’s contract is not going to be renewed, so CA will be without a head coach as of August:we recall; Moeller tried to bring Civilization back to the NT, after Herdman was too often called out for his barbaric style. But all it got him a drop in the rankings as well as voted the dullest team at last year’s WC. With both Canada & England looking fo new coaches, will we see the return of Neid, Ellis, or Sasaki?
Sasaki has moved to greener pastures some years ago.In 2018 he was given the job of director of women's football at JFA. He also is one of the people spearheading new Japan women pro-league that starts next year. From what I recall Neid also has a job at DFB. I guess only Ellis is avaiable.A couple years at the helm of England NT (with succes at EURO) could buy her a shot for a "desk job" in the FA's womens developement program as well.
Good points, but minus its mundane soccer program, Canada’s been recommended or vote on by several media/news/health/human rights orgs as the best country in the world to live in. That’s got to be on the mind as well for those coaches now if they can only do something about those frigid cold winters!
