So for season 1991-92 GS forecasted the objectives of each club and how well they are rated. Ascoli is considered the weakest side while Juventus is regarded as the strongest and top favorite. We will see if Roberto Baggio bounces back from a lackluster opening season with his new club with some new talent assembled around him and the return of a legendary head-coach.
To start off the 1991-92 campaign, Sampdoria started where they had left off, winning this time the Italian Super Cup at the expense of Roma.
Some notable new signings for the upcoming season are Stojkovic, Platt, Scifo, Gascoigne, Batistuta, Kohler, Bierhoff, Skuhravy, Blanc. Some notable absentees are Maradona and Ariggo Sacchi.
On Gascoigne, not exactly. Rumours at the time said he'd agreed an £8.5m transfer to Lazio (which would have been a world record) but his injury in the 1991 FA Cup final ruled him out for the entire 1991-2 season and he didn't end up joining them until the following summer, for a reduced fee of £5.5m.
Correct, mate. Thanks for correcting me. Apparently he was on the cusp of signing to Lazio but would not see playing time for the 1991-92 campaign.
Here about this “extraordinary personality” that had been acquired for Lazio: Time would have to wait until 1992 for him to take his talents to Italy.
So there is a change in GS for the 1991-92 season: no longer will be available every grade from the top 4 sources. In addition, there is a top 10 vote of the best and worst performers of each week provided by Aldo Agroppi. GS continued to hand out grades but with the added addition of pointing out the best player of the match and the worst.
So this is how Aldo Agroppi voted: the top 5 in red (later in grey in other rounds) were the weakest performers while numbers 6-10 were the strongest, according to his opinion. So to confirm, because it may be a bit confusing, the players in red were viewed as weak in the weekly vote, while the players in blue as the best or most important. GS round 1
Aldo Agroppi top best and worst voted players (remember the top 5 are the most disappointing while 6-10 are the best performers of the week). GS round 2
I have personally tabulated a few years of player grades given on La Stampa for all players, referees, and teams. Will share the spreadsheets here. This one is for 94-95 season: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rumquIdj8w89_9gxzjBktBnXSABuooBo1T3R5k759LI/edit?usp=sharing
Excellent work, it does provide further coverage which requires lots of work. Thanks for the addition.

The magical moment of Scifo with Torino, after 1 disappointing season in the 1980s with Inter Milano, Scifo in 1991 has grown into one of the best players in the Italian league and in the world.
Aldo Agroppi top best and worst voted players (remember the top 5 are the most disappointing while 6-10 are the best performers of the week). GS round 5
