Maybe van Dijk and de Ligt they can go forward if there is a corner but for most of the time they have to defend. Up front we need someone who can score a lot. I don't think that Luuk de Jong, Janssen or anybody else is ahead of Weghorst for the centre forward spot in this moment.
Has anybody followed Guus Til and Michel Vlap recently? They were quite promising but not sure if they are now oranje material.
Kluivert was sent off today as he got two yellow cards. It really is sad to see how bad he has become. If it was not for his name he would be in the Eredivisie on a team like RKC. I hope one day the switch turns on his head and he turns it around but he just has no iq out there
Luukinho finally scored his 1st goal for Sevilla today. Deserved too, he missed a sitter earlier. Sevilla coach needs to start him and Chicharito together, they link up very well
His development has stalled so much that right now he wouldn't be. But who knows if he would have stayed at Ajax. Things could be completely different. Right now with the talent he has, he would not be starting at Ajax if his last name was Smith
Kluivert's development would not have stalled if he had stayed at Ajax IMO. But he went to the wrong League, and at way too early of an age
I just got home and saw the awful tweets about him. He might not be ready for Europe yet, maybe he shouldve stayed in NL for a year or two
I only saw the 2nd half and he played OK. He had a couple of great interventions and was quick on passing the ball out of the back. Big problem with Juve is their MF is very poor and they didn't upgrade it at all during the summer.
He got a higher mark than Bonucci at least: https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1...ns-League-2019-2020-Juventus-Lokomotiv-Moscow
de Ligt was overhyped as I said before. Ajax had a great system with great players that worked so well as a collective and they've barely missed a beat losing two big talents in de Ligt and de Jong in the summer. He's got a lot of talent but the people comparing him to van Dijk and calling him one of the best in the world already were jumping the gun; he's not at that level yet. Also, Robin Gosens looks a very solid player to me I agree that his eligibility should be explored.
At the same age, van Dijk was toiling away at Groningen and nobody predicted he would be the dominant defender in the world. Of course de Ligt is not at that level and maybe he never will be, that's for the future to say.
Right, and nobody is saying de Ligt can't reach that level. It's the people that were saying he was already there that were overhyping, which is what I was referring to.
People who rip into De Ligt for that mistake are being a little bit too harsh. The main problem with Juve as has already been mentioned in this thread is their awful midfield, which forces Sarri to play with a high line defense where defenders are almost midfielders. The problem with this is when you lose the ball like De Ligt did you are wide open and in deep trouble. Which is also why Bonucci looked so bad at that goal. De Ligt still has ways to go however as he still looked lost and didn't really show confidence.
De Ligt concedes another penalty today. It's so sad to see him play right now. He has the talent but left one year too early and having such a tough time adjusting
Looks like Dest is choosing USA. Tough loss for Netherlands with it being such a poor position for them and not many promising prospects coming up either.
