Jeong should ask for a transfer this Winter. I don't think this coach is too keen on giving young players any playing time. Kwon also should be looking to get out.

Freiburg’s results are too good to justify changing things, which means KCH won’t get many minutes as is.

    Should have gone to Salzburg.

    ------

Before the season, Woo-Yeong Jeong from Bayern 2 to SC Freiburg changed. In Breisgau the South Korean is still waiting for the breakthrough. The 20-year-old has to grow physically.

In his one and a half years on the Isar, Woo-Yeong Jeong has developed splendidly. After a few missions in the U19 Bundesliga, the winger established last year in the Regionalliga team. With 13 goals in 29 games, he contributed significantly to the fact that the second team of the record champions rose to the 3rd league.

In the summer, the South Korean had some offers from senior leagues before, in the end, the 20-year-old decided to change to tranquil Freiburg. Christian Streich is a committed sponsor of young players and said a few weeks ago at Sky about the change from Bavaria to Baden: " We could not say no. It's great that we got him . "

Jeong still has to grow physically
However, after seven matchdays, the million newcomers to the Breisgau still waiting for his first minutes in the Bundesliga. In the U23 of the SCF he was three times on the ball and contributed two hits. However, Jeong's signature will certainly have given him a different idea of starting the new club. SCF sports director Klemens Hartenbach calls in the kicker reasons why it has not been enough for the junior national player yet with the professionals. Jeong still has physical deficits. The youngster must cite "physique and robustness, especially in the ball capture," the 55-year-old is quoted and calls: "He must try to work out the corporeality."

The last-minute commitment of Vincenzo Grifo also gave him a high-profile competitor. And Jeong's public perception of South Korea is also a sticking point for Hartenbach: "With the hype in the home, it's not easy for Woo-Yeong to keep his patience." Last season, Jeong made headlines. From the second half he was accompanied at home games at every turn by a South Korean television team.

Freiburg are playing their by far strongest Buli season ever so far. Streich is a manager who rates internal comradeship over playing time, even veterans like Nils Petersen (former Bayern player and one time Buli 2 top scorer) had lengthy periods with no playing time. At the same time Freiburg still is a selling club while Streich is known to improve his players so everybody is bound to get his chances eventually.

After today's win against RB Leipzig Freiburg is sitting on 2nd place, with a place within the top 4 guaranteed even after tomorrow's two matches. It's an insanely successful season for Freiburg so far, Kwon and Jeong are unlucky that the other players are overperforming this much.
