My favorite player of all time is Yoo Sang-chul. In any KNT all-time best 11, his name is first to appear on my team sheet. He's won the K-League golden boot as a striker and won many trophies as a center back, a defensive midfielder and even a winger. He never stopped running. He didn't shy away from a fight. He's got a big smile. . He'd jump for headers with a broken nose. Physically and mentally strong. He was a true servant leader on the field. It appears that he's been recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I believe Incheon will break the news with more details but rumors have it that time is not on his side. But I know he'll make it through because he's an absolute beast and a legend.
For the record, the source is a journalist. It appears that he agreed to keep this story quiet until he had the green light from Yoo Sang-chul and Incheon. Instead, he chose to talk about it on his blog. He's received criticism and deleted his original post. However, an update was made on his bullshlte rationale as to why he chose to reveal the story (answer: he wanted more clicks). https://digilog4u.com/56455/comment-page-1#comments Mods: Please feel free to delete this thread. I do think that Yoo Sang-chul is an all-time great and deserves his own thread, however.
Aside from his achievement, Yoo is a class act and a great character to begin with. That's why all Incheon players and staffs, including Lee Chun-soo, were in tears after their hard-fought win over Seongnam. I wish nothing but best for him.
BTW if you want to be successful at coaching job in any professional team sports, your mental strength must be as minimum of 95% close as God's. Boy, the job just kills you in every way you could've ever imagined. It was so hard letting Cho Jin-ho pass away two years ago due to heart attack.
Personally I think the thread should be deleted until Confirmation only because it's promulgating the funk and desecrating YSC
Incheon United manager Yoo Sang-chul has said that he has pancreatic cancer in the fourth stage but will do his job until the end of the season for the fans. #kleague pic.twitter.com/xJMkwS19ri— Korea Football News (@KORFootballNews) November 19, 2019 The terrible news is confirmed. Actually, it is way worse than I had expected. Really sad news.
any doctors in here that can shed some more insight as to how realistic his chances of survival are? seems pretty low...
Alex trebek is stage 4 I think as well I think there's a saying when it comes to pancreatic cancer If the cancer doesn't kill you the chemo will This type of cancer has one of the most exhaustive therapies there is Wonder what that reporters motivation was to 'break' this story?! Every reason I can think of is lame and gutless
Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest and at stage 4 it's pretty much a question of how much time will the doctors say he has left? It won't be long.
