just because someone posts in here doesn't mean they care about the player anymore. All he's doing is complaining while he continues to be irrelevant at his club.

and I didn't say that people shouldn't post either, it's their right.

He deserves more respect, in my opinion he was one of if not main reason why the national team came out of its mediocrity a decade or so ago, a brilliant technician in his hay day

I'm not even sure why I'm arguing with Ozil's #1 fanboy anyways. I always said I like Ozil but at this point, I could care less about him and his continuing failures.

nope, he along with a new crop of players who all came out at the same time. Guys like Ozil, Muller, Kroos, Khedira, Neuer, Hummels, Boa etc. Even Gotze/Schurrle played massive roles too, even if both have had downfalls since. Ozil was just a part of the cog not everything.

At that time a quality 10 was like gold dust, and he certainly was

Ozil played a ton of games for Germany on the Wings too. I see tons of obsession to praise Ozil to the moon but what about Gotze he's also a 10/W and he won us the WC too before being ruined by illness and also Low didn't help him as much playing him as a false 9.

Ozil did contribute a lot but let's not pretend that others didn't have impact as well. People always praise Germany for not having a superstar and it's more team focused and that's how I see it too.

You are right, it was a golden period, but ozil was a stand out, I don't see others getting the criticism that he does, specially in the German media

when I think of 2014 WC Ozil doesn't even come up to mind as a standout.
I feel like Ozil, Howedes, Per, Mustafi seem to be the least memorable players at that tourney.

he gets tons of criticism because of his pics and relationship with what people see as a dictator and he thinks he didn't do anything wrong, also has him as his best man at his wedding. Erdogan is a controversial figure in Germany and in the world. Now he's back to making trouble too.

in the end, hard to feel bad for rich millionaires.

2009 onwards ozil was outstanding, loew actually made a decent call to fire ballack off before the world cup as let's face it he was a predictable and average player so ozil could rome in midfield, as for his personal life who cares as long as he performed with dignity for germany in which he did

Ballack was in no way average player and Ozil has nothing to do with Ballack's absence. Did you forget that Ballack was injured with a long term injury as he was taken out by Boa's bro KPB? Ballack is primarily a CM and that's not Ozil at all.

the 2010 WC squad, was a farce (even if we trashed Argentina, England along the way), like half the squad was meh.
same Low who choose Marko Marin over Reus and look at how that turned out.

wouldn't call taking pictures with a dictator as personal life that's public life and that's where all the fuss comes from. Forget qualifiers and friendlies, Ozil only has a handful of good games for Germany. That people always bash him that he disappears in big games.....

majority of fans don't give a shit about Schurrle but he played bigger role than Ozil ever did in limited game time. There is no WC trophy without Schurrle. And Ozil is nowhere near one of the best Germany players ever.

I didn’t care about Özil back then a d thank goodness BAyErN didn’t get him back in the day. Come to think of it, I wonder how that would have changed Uli’s narrative had he been on our payroll. [emoji23]

Ballack was injured in the FA Cup final. Oezil was going to play regardless.
