It's a marketing effort. The shirts are so expensive, people are content with the shirt they posses, so if a new shirt comes on the market that looks only in details different, alot are thinking not to buy it. With this one it's obvious if you wear an old shirt or not and that might make people buy......or they think what an ugly mfshirt and donot want to be found dead in it.
I buy an Ajax shirt every season as it is the one way I can support the team. I buy directly from the Ajax on line store which now accepts PayPal and my shirt arrives in three days.
