As a neutral? Yes. As a fan of a team in the eastern play-offs? Nope. Also, Almeyda loves getting tossed. He is the Earl Weaver of MLS.
SJ digging themselves a hole. Have Philly at home on Wednesday without Almeyda on the bench and Wondo got tossed while on the bench after the second Atlanta goal. And I forgot about Espinoza as well.
As an Atlanta fan even I feel the ref mismanaged the game. I feel Espinoza earned his red but the match as a whole was clumsy and our officiate didn't properly handle the calls evenly and with context. Now just have to see how Josef is doing.
Although I hope Josef's injury is not significant enough to keep him out that long, Atlanta at least saw that a few other players can score. (Albeit against a short-handed San Jose team). And as much as I like the streak, it may have become a distracting thing as it neared the post-season.
Talked about FCC and their missing on player signings, I'm not sure they did worse than the Whitecaps did with international signings. In-Beom has been fine and Godoy was a starter. Adnan is a reach as a DP, but ok. Montero has 3 goals from the run of play. Erice went from starter and captain (?) to bench and sometimes player. Lucas Venuto is already gone. Lass Bangoura has 634 minutes. Ardaiz has 405 and 0 goals. And Jasser Khimiri hasn't even been heard from. And I think these were all TAM or DP level signings.
By the way, it is a pet peeve of mine to hear announcers (and anyone else) say that a guy is "unmarked" when he gets off a (headed) shot in the box. Dude, there was a guy all over Montero. He just wasn't big or strong enough to make a difference. But dammit, he wasn't "unmarked." I wish that would just die a quick death.
Scoreless after 40 between RSL and New England, which is pretty good for the lineup RSL has out there. Pretty even game thus far.
