It’s not about size it’s about what you do with your size.

This is the flavor of the week thread. I posted a nice goal from Zardes, which triggered some kind of irrational bs from you.

If his scoring goals triggers you that badly then why not get help?

I'm surprised his Portuguese team didn't try him at CB.

I’m more surprised that the first quote of that comment wasn’t, “that’s what she said.”

On a serious note. My guess is his athletic profile. He’s note a horrible athlete by any means but outside of his height his profile doesn’t exactly fit the CB.

Kyle Duncan(22) gets the start at RB, gets a goal, 3 tackles 4 aerials for WS Man of the Match. As I've said before, he needs to be starting by next season, at the latest.

Danilo Acosta(22)--Orlando is the worst place in MLS to try to turn around the career. Hopefully, he gains traction next season, with a different team. Or maybe he gets a fresh chance with RSL's coach.

The team where all the fans want to fire the coach? Sure, makes sense.

I know Ebobisse missed a sure goal, but otherwise I like his passing ability and situational awareness. Given time, I think he will be a welcomed addition to USNT.

Where was Williamson? He wasn't even in the 18 after 2 straight good performances. I didn't see any gripes or mention of injury on Twitter, even after the disappointing loss at home.

My default is to assume this is just the Timbers being the Timbers. We got enough cheap Latin American talent available now, some who are steals while the others total flops, so your services are no longer needed. Not understanding Conechny and Polo mania so far. Even Paredes hasn't been that good.

Lol, if my updates on the current American scoring leader in MLS trigger you so much, why not get help?

When has he done anything on a set piece?

(I like Parks in general, but I would say the biggest hole in his game is his lack of physical aggression. Soccer is a physical game. You dont have the be the biggest or the strongest, but you have to stick your nose in there)

Haven't seen him enough to have an opinion. Just figured a tall guy to do defensive headers and knockdowns can't hurt.

He can stick his nose in there. His feet are dandy.

A bigger problem would be getting pushed off the ball.

    Amaya's an intriguing prospect.

He started our CONCACAF U20 Championships critical qualifying game against Honduras and final match against Mexico. We won both games.

Then by the time the U20 World Cup came around a different group of midfielders jumped over him in the pecking order (Ledezma, Mendez, Pomykal, etc.)

It'll be interesting to see how he develops, because he does have some tools.

THe list of midfielders getting professional minutes that DIDN'T make that team is pretty impressive. And Tyler Adams was eligible too.

I remember when I first started watching USYNTs when we could barely scrape together a squad of kids playing profressionally. Night and day now.

Yeah I like Parks but if he had no weaknesses he’d be playing in a top 4 league right now. Makes me wonder about the system that says such a thing. I’ll get to watch him live tomorrow so I’ll concentrate on whether he has no weaknesses.

Players can have weaknesses, yet still play in top-4 leagues. Heck, most players in the top leagues have weaknesses in their games. How elite are his strengths? How much do the weaknesses detract from his overall game?

This is Parks' first year getting major minutes in a solid league. Looks to have elite potential as a box-to-box or a deep-lying playmaker.

He had a late growth spurt. Big guys take longer to develop.

He looks to a solid tackler in the manner of running onto to his opponents. He doesn't appear to have the quicks to stuff speedy dribblers, however.

Hopefully he can develop into a solid 6 so we never have to call up Trapp or Bradley again.

He did well whenever NYC had played him there.
