Last years season was a strong one for young players & this season may be even better. After a disappointing 17s euro & u20 World Cup some of our best young players have had to take their medicine.

I’m really pumped to see who breaks through this season

It will be interesting to see if Porto continue to show faith with 19 yo GK Diogo Costa & 17 yo striker Fabio Silva. Both great talents but wasn’t expected from Sergio & I think once the real football starts they will be back in the B team.

Man of the Match performance from young Portuguese player in France yesterday.
Mathias Pereira Lage with 1 goal and 1 assist for Angers as they beat Paulo Sousa's Bordeaux.

Also, 19 year old defender Tiago Djalo played 90 minutes in Central Defense beside Jose Fonte in Lille's 2-1 win over Nantes. If he can get regular playing time, he'll learn a lot from Fonte.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask about this player but here goes anyway:

Francisco Conceição is someone I've started looking into (basically a longstanding fantasy keeper league of sorts) and he looks pretty amazing at his level and obviously I see the comparisons to Messi being made. Is he being hyped at all on the ground level? There's not enough footage out there for me to make a concrete opinion and highlights can make anyone look like a future star.

He’s a really great player aesthetically but the hype is nowhere near the level of Portos jewel Fabio Silva.

Interesting. I've seen Fabio Silva play a few times and he didn't impress me that much (especially in the u17 Euro over the summer). I'll keep a closer eye on both.

He’s a very good player, tried to do too much in that tourney, but he’s strong, fast, technical & a great finisher. Esteves the fullback is also a very special talent from Porto, mature beyond his years.

Is Ansu Fati eligible? It may be a long shot, since it appears he’s been granted Spanish citizenship, but is he eligible for Portuguese citizenship since I’m assuming his grandparents were born in Portuguese Guinea? I doubt he’d choose a seleção over Spain, sadly

Fabio Silva with a hat trick yesterday for Portugal's Under 19's, in a 4-1 win over Italy. All class finishes.

Umaro Embalo with the other goal.

What about Ronaldo Camara, Tomas Esteves and Joelson Fernandes? They all look very, very good for their age group.

First two seem decent, but i doubt joelson will amount to anything. Sportings academy is one of the worst right now in Portugal and havent produced anyone in years.

Domingos Duarte is a good sporting product and is probably one of the best young defenders right now. Perhaps only a
Matter of time until Santos calls
    Him up.

Sporting academy is the main reason Portugal became a top national team over the last 25 years or so, not sure where the hate comes from and I don’t support any big
    3 sides .

Of course Eduardo Quaresma is gonna be good. I heard he is Ricardo Quaresma’s cousin and has been learning from him.

Domingos Duarte could become an option at centerback.
