If Yang were to do well enough to be taken seriously, the attacks on UBI would be breathtaking. They would make the attacks on Bernie's and AOC's socialism look muted. The rich anti-tax lobby would portray him as the love child of Mao and Pol Pot.
Didn't he say the other day that Trump would give him the nickname "Comrade Yang?" After all, it kills several birds with a single stone--racist enough to invoke Mao and panders to the people who wet their pants over the thought of "socialism," but are too ill-equipped to attempt to describe what the word means.
"I'd build a big, beautiful wall...a Great Wall around Yang's candidacy, believe me" Then make some stereotypical "ping bing bang" noises
I think "Comrade" is far more associated with Russians than the Chinese. I can't see it as having racial overtones.
If we're going to play that silly game, the opening gambit should have at least been "Chairman Yang".
Agreed, that was why I could not figure out if she was saying he was a crappy businessman, or a compassionate one, or both.

8% is new national poll. Definitely an outlier, but this is what happens when pollsters do a more even balance of cell phones and landlines. Pollsters that skew heavily towards landlines are not getting the full picture. Yang is at 26% with voters under 30. That's hard to measure when your poll is 80%, 90%+ landlines. 8% nationally and in 4th place - our best poll yet. 😀👍🇺🇸 https://t.co/AgJgj4b8ni— Andrew Yang🧢⬆️🇺🇸 (@AndrewYang) September 24, 2019
I'm amazed they still even attempt landline surveys. We still have a landline but never answer it unless it announces somebody we know. Those surveys must skew very old.
How do people know they are calling a landlines? The other day I texted a number that called me, it didn't work as it was a landline.
I've seen a dozen Yang fliers around town, but that could be one guy with lots of tape. Quite a few Bernie bumper stickers updated to 2020. Nothing for Biden yet, even though he lived here for the first 12 or so years of his life.
Actually he broke through the media blockade about 2 weeks ago. I think that last debate clinched it. Whether you like his gimmick or not, it successfully turned him into a talking point. The media eats that shit up. Once the media lets him in, they quickly realize that Yang brings a lot of clicks and viewers with him. They'll still marginalize him at times, but it won't be as bad as before.
Young people get it instantly ... This was the scene after Yang addressed young people in Iowa The full presentation was seamless as always. He really is the only candidate who has a good sense of where the future is headed and young people get it because they see it too.
