Gunmaker Colt says it is suspending its production of rifles for the civilian market including the popular AR-15. https://t.co/sMdA3aftTj— Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) September 19, 2019
As the comments say, the patent for AR-15, expired a while ago, so there are probably dozens of smaller companies eating up the sales of AR-15's, they make better products at cheaper prices. Colt made a good business decision on closing a loss making business, and they may get good PR out of it by those that do not know the real reason. There are basically way too many of them available to make a decent profit. https://www.wsj.com/articles/colt-defense-to-stop-producing-ar-15-rifles-for-civilians-11568922519
My Dad has 4 different civilian "AR-15" variants Colt, Bushmaster, FN and one other I forget as I never shot with it There are loads of versions out there
*Whispers*It's because Colt's ARs are notoriously overpriced compared to ARs of similar quality, not because people aren't buying ARs generally.Capitalistic quality control won, not gun control.— Amy Swearer (@AmySwearer) September 19, 2019
The tweeter Amy Swearer is actually stupid...or at least her tweet is. Colts are far from notoriously overpriced compared to comparable manufacturers. They are actually of higher quality than the price would indicate. Colt has always made the bulk of their earnings through the handgun market which makes the decision from a business perspective logical. AR's tend to be in three tiers in terms of quality. Also all AR's are not even close in quality, Bushmaster, Wyndam, RRA...will never come close to Colt nor will Colt come close to Noveske, Larue, LMT or BMC (which actually like Colt is a bargain). Gotta love Twitter, get a handle and you magically become an expert.
That is my experience as well. Far preferred the Colt to the Bushmaster which i really didn't like at all.
I know we have become desensitized but this story is really crazy. I can't imagine any other president who could get away with this shit. "someone ought to look into Joe Biden'." SMH! Pool report: Trump on the whistleblower story and Biden: "POTUS calls it a 'Ridiculous story' and a 'Partisan whistleblower' ... Asked whether he discussed Biden in this conversation, POTUS 'it doesn't matter what I discussed' and says 'someone ought to look into Joe Biden'."— Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) September 20, 2019
It's in broad daylight now nothing will happen because the media is too pathetic to call a spade a spade
Why did you feel it necessary to come into this thread and (1) tell posters who made a mistake that this is the wrong thread nearly 5 days after its last post, and (2) talk down to the posters by referring to them all as "ladies"? This seems pretty unbecoming and wholly unnecessary.
Ok so I have been drinking a bit, so bear with me. What if we bring back duals as a way to end beef among gang members or other groups. Make it old school, 1 shot per dualist. The way people shoot nobody would get hurt.
“No, your the puppet!!” https://www.npr.org/2019/09/27/7648...ussia-ahead-of-2016-new-senate-report-reveals
I am on deck in NZ getting my head around the gun buy back Some parts seem to be OK but there are certainly aspects that are screwed up in the rush One oddity is around the relationship between larger magazine sizes and MSSA So somehow our "cowboy" style lever action .22 from the 1920s is caught in the ban because you can put 10 up the spout. But seeing the weapon is not even semi auto Also people get good compo for their newer bushmaster that they bought to be all macho on the one goat shoot they ever went on But if you have collectors items old guns which appreciate in value year on year and of course are seldom fired if ever you get lower compo because the gun is "used"? So this means you get far more compo for your crappy near new gun than for a collectors item original which is 50 or 60 years old
