So with a mixed friendly we had this month, I am looking forward to these that are going to come up one month from now...

Now thinking of it facing Chile will be vital for us compared to Brazil; the mentality that we had in the Copa America was extremely disapointing and I can sure as hell tell you that any Colombian would have the right to be angry at the way how we lost momentum and had VAR saved our asses twice.

Considering that this is a friendly and we should have players like James ready and good to go by then, I think that there's going to arugably be less stress around the team. That and facing a neighbor Ecuador would also need to be handled accordingly.

Queiroz said he hopes that these 2 friendlies in October take place in Europe, which would be good for all our Europe based players. Whoever we play, because I dont think the October opponents have been set, hopefully Quintero is back and healthy by then.

There's not too many fans who can boast more fandom of JuanFer's game than me.
However, I am pessimistic about how Queiroz will use him based on what I have heard about his tactics and based on what we have seen so far with Cardona.
I do not expect JuanFer to be factor much in these next couple of months but hope he is given the opportunity (assuming he is healthy).

Think we didn’t play a -#10 because we didn’t have one tho a Cuadrado was our engine these games with Muriel.

Yario also was awesome but I hear he is a LB in Mexico. During the game that is what was said.

I thought Chile and Ecuador were confirmed games and they are in Florida.

Hope if those are the games that Ospina isn’t called and we actually give Montero a shot. Also a 3rd keeper if Vargas isn’t it.murillo not being called as well he to me is too old to be a backup and prefer Lucumi who has been great when used gets more minutes. As well as trying different CBs

A much much larger roster would be nice. It seems he calls a small team to let everyone play and everyone did but GK 3 and 4. Tho if we had been up by a few goals maybe #3 would have debuted

Overall loving what I am seeing so far especially without James and Falcao who have bailed us out of everything the last 7 years.

Who the hell knows nowadays what Conmebol looks like. Argentina thrashes Mexico 4-0 but Chile loses to Honduras who's been playing awful? Peru beats Brazil, Uruguay ties USA, Ecuador beats Peru last week and Colombia ties everyone.....go figure.

    Being undefeated baby~ ;)

I am just happy that we're not the only ones who had a mixed friendly window. That being said, I don't know how our coach's mindset will be regarding Chile after this friendly window we had and now that we're having players available that weren't used; will he experiment again or actually try to get a 100% ready squad?

Yeah, we didnt play with a 10 because of not having one, but it is interesting that Queiroz didnt call one up for these games. Could have called up a Cardona or Barrera but decided not to.

The only game confirmed as of now is against Peru in November in Miami.

From what I heard is that Colombia is playing Algeria and Chile next month in Europe. Peru and Ecuador at Florida in November which will be Miami for Peru and Tampa for Ecuador.

Queiroz already invited 37 players for these friendly and I'm guessing that eventually we'll stay with around 25-26 players.

Nice to see some faces that return to the NT like Frank Fabra and Mojica. Tesillo was good in my opinion and so is Borja, but Queiroz needs to check other options, surely if they are naturals LB.

Daniel Muñoz and Yairo Moreno are once again here. Moreno was wonderful, I wish he'll continue to get credit. Muñoz should be finally fit and to play with the NT for the first time.

Villa returned (but Berrio also is in), Sinisterra will make his debut and Jhon Cordoba is also there, although I'm less enthusiastic regarding him. But finally Alfredo Morelos is in the list and I hope he'll prove himself like he does in Scotland.

Damn Quintero wasn't called up? I guess given the situation of ACL injuries he doesn't want to risk him.

Why should he? The guy still didn't return to play after almost a year. I was extremely surprised if he would call him. I actually don't understand Cardona's absence. Plays in Mexico and plays very well. Weird.

When it comes to Cardona I think he was only given a chance due to JuanFer's injury. If it were not for that I personally believe he would have never been called up.
Some in the media recently have been emphasizing that since Cardona's red card for Pachuca weeks ago Queiroz has not even mentioned him as an option. (That could have been the last straw, but that is just speculation.)

But as has been said in other threads Queiroz just does not like creative players that much within his tactics so he is just focusing more on three striker formations.

Apparently James is obssessed with succeeding in Madrid and asked Queiroz not to call him up for these friendlies

Part of me likes his attitude, but i wonder how Queiroz feels about this

I'm completely ok with it. James is our most important player, he'll be there when we need him. Now it's his time to keep his form high in his club so he can contribute us in the future. Good decision .

I also agree that this is important for him not to be there; this squad improving without him will be vital hence we avoid another embarrassing performance in the WC like we did with England...I hated how scared/timid we were and how helpless the mentality was just because him not being there affected the team.

James - not a surprise given the recent news

Arias - plays sparingly at Atlético. His status has been concerning for awhile now. If Medina is our main guy this cycle, I am slightly concerned.

No Falcao - not surprised. Let’s give Duvan and others that faith that it’s their time now.

No borre - would have liked him to be in this group.

Mr sinister - nice! Show everyone what you got!

Mojica - the whole 2nd división weekly schedule doesn’t sit well with me personally, but I guess Fabra still has a way to go before he’s NT ready. Is there really no one else in the Colombian league??

Where’s Cuéllar? He’s playing regularly last I checked? I liked what I saw out of him in that Paraguay CA game and he’s been out of the scene since.....
