I don't care about the tournament. That ain't going to happen. Fifa dates are Fifa dates. If we organize official friendlies for those dates, we can call him.
I just don't see what good would come from calling up a player that isn't going to be able to take part in that tournament. As @HomietheClown said i'd rather have him with the senior NT.
Oh yeah, that's definitely my logic, too. I think it's pretty pointless that most of the international guys are in this callup for that matter. Gallardo is not going to let Carrascal go to a tournament he doesn't need to. The Mexican league starts back up the week before the Preolimpico takes off. If Casierra is going to Portugal, this'll be his last appearance. This callup and Quieroz' press conference has basically thrown the conventional logic out the window, though. It seems the staff is using these friendlies and the preolimpico not so much as its own individual process, but as supplementary data and testing for the senior squad. If that's the idea, I think we should take advantage of these Fifa dates and call up Suarez. Hell, I hope we qualify to the Olympics just so we could keep seeing sub 23 friendlies for the next few months. Aside from my own selfish, entertainment-based interests, these games give brilliant shots to guys who are knocking on the NT's doors right when we're about to head into the qualifiers.
Especially since many of our players would roll around on the ground expecting some sort of whistle in most situations.
Interesting: https://www.futbolred.com/colombian...-colombiano-en-real-zaragoza-de-espana-106604 I am not sure Spain wants him but they did qualify for the Olympics. But this could be more than likely a way to force the Colombian Federation to put him on their radar.
Yea but shit like this pisses me off he left colombia what 3 years ago and now like well I’ll play for another team if they call me up Dude I get it. It’s annoying they don’t call guys from the same team. But at 22 to renounce your NT for another one is a bitch move. Hope he never gets called
He can't play for Spain in the next two years. He's only been a resident there for three and he must have lived at least five in the country to be allowed by FIFA to change his allegiance so to speak.
There is no reason why this guy shouldn't be called up soon. However, I do agree with Crazy. What a punk for even thinking of accepting an invitation from Spain.
He's right about something tho... Reyes called Galeano who wasn't doing shit and he wasn't even taking to a damn microciclo. I sincerely hope that Queiroz is able to persuade him soon, he is an awesome player with a huge upside in my opinion.
to the u-23........but to the senior national team, not really that he should be called up is second dvision....
Apparently Reyes has called him to let him know that he wants him for the Olympic team, but Real Zaragoza won't allow him to travel to the tournament, after all, this isn't a FIFA tournament and no one can force them to loan him.
