In three games, we have yet to earn a point in a match refereed by Joe Dickerson. :(

Between periods of dozing off, the best players as far as I could see were Flo & Vega.....

    The rest were crap.

The radio announcer was constantly invoking Magnus, but sounded like a grim event overall, just as glad i was not there

I actually thought Magnus looked rather uncoordinated tonight, and his passing made me wonder if he needs contacts...

    Don't worry, the field at Yankee's Stadium is what - 60 x 40 yards?

Dickerson is a very poor referee, he doesn't play advantage for us and plays it for SLC... No VAR call on an obvious handball by Rimando.

I thought the whole purpose of VAR was to revue calls you might not have been able to see live.

Crap do the refs take a class called "How To Screw San Jose"?

Honest question is a handball outside of the box VARable? I guess if it was DOGSO.

Fiero is rather useless. He was supposed to be fast. Right? I saw none of that.

This is the bad version of Godoy. Get the ball, spin around, pass backward.

Paul Marie kept passing the ball to RSL that allowed RSL to counter attack. In the offseason, we seriously need a proper left-footed LB at least as backup.

Danny Hoesen, when was the last time he did anything positive on the field?

If it was not for Vega (and Kashia), we could be down 0-4.

It showed again that our bench is not as deep as we thought. We saw significant drop off in quality last time (I forgot which game, but we started Felipe) when we missed some starters.

The first half hour looked mediocre. The rest was bad. Don’t know why danger thought Godoy looked good - I thought he was bad except for a few good tackles.

Quakes were not sharp in the final third and weren't crisp with routine passing all over the field. On to the next!

Other than possibly handling the ball outside the box, did Rimando even have to make one save last night? I cannot recall him doing so. Very surprising for a team that has been putting so many shots on goal...

Espinoza and Wondo had shots from tough angles that Rimando saved. There was one other. But I would be surprised if any of them were high "expected goal" value shots. Idk how xG is scored, but they weren't high probability chances.

I'm sure they rue the multiple crosses into the box they had early on that NO ONE connected with.

Does anyone have a clean replay of the alleged Rimando hand ball? I would like another trophy for my Evidence of League Conspiracy Against the Quakes collection.

I tend to agree, but I thought he looked a bit better in this game. Not saying much perhaps, but I was impressed by a couple of smart runs he made that could have resulted in goals if the service had been slightly better. One was an over-weighted through ball from Espinoza (where Wondo was pulling back from an offside position) that Rimando was able to come out and clear in the Nick of time (see what I did there?); the other was a long run Fierro made from the left flank, all the way to the goal mouth, but Wondo's (?) cross from the right was a bit too high.

It did not strike me that the through ball from Espinoza was over-weighted. I thought Fierro simply was not fast enough to retrieve it and deke Rimando.

He was also in "I can't be bothered to track back and defend" mode at times (like on the RSL goal).

Not one of his better games. In addition to his giveaways, he was too slow to close down on the guy that got the assist.

He's been a ghost for the past month or so. Very disappointing.

    I agree- both were sharp.

I know Vako was coming off international duty, but I wonder if we'd have gotten a point if he had been brought on a bit earlier. He looked energetic and dangerous.

Not an unreasonable take. It just looked to me like the pass could have been better (and credit to the old man for coming out and beating Fierro to the ball).

well, so much for all the "Vamos!" hoopla. we can't win on the road, not against a depleted RSL side, and very doubtful we win either of the next two either, against two of the top three teams in the east, on the road. Suspensions and call ups don't help but ultimately, as someone mentioned, our lack of depth is showing. Matias has been absolutely brilliant for SJ but it's going to take a minor miracle to get us into the playoffs now.

    Please anybody but Godoy.

That was as bad as it gets...half hearted jogging around the field...no effort to win the ball on their game winner... standing right next to their guy...a real groaner goal when everyone else was playing hard. We should have easily tied that game...RSL didn't present much to deal with in the attack.

He gifted a team we're neck and neck with 3 points...If he's that disengaged, he'll cost us points...Honestly, I would wouldn't let him see the field again. Felipe isn't exactly ready yet, but I'd take him over Godoy tanking it any day of the week.

How did VAR not call back RSL's goal? Their guy pushed off Godoy's shoulder to win the header and that's clearly a foul. WTF?!

There are seven teams vying for six spots, which means only one will be left out. And the Quakes are currently in playoff position.

Plus, Quakes will definitely beat Atlanta. :)
