I'm a Quakes fan. I watch him every week at the club level. While being great in MLS doesn't mean you will be good at the international level, being decidely mediocre in MLS -- which is what Yeuill is -- means you aren't anything special at the international level. He works hard, has nice passing vision, but he's not athletic enough or skilled enough to be an impact player.
Probably. I'd go Pomykal/Roldan/Yueill but you know Trapp is starting and either Roldan or Lletget probably gets the third spot (unless Berhalter decides to put Roldan out of position as RW again, which is possible)
Berhalter referendum with this match: Basically, if Trapp doesn't start I'm happy. If he does, pitchforks.
Why is this game being played in a baseball stadium when there are many soccer specific stadiums? I don't want to put on my tin foil hat but this is just more proof that the USMNT is a marketing tool for MLS since St. Louis just got awarded as an MLS expansion club. These people don't really care about results of the NT. Just pay a ticket and don't ask questions.

Reporter: "So, Gregg, how are you going to adjust your build-up play after Mexico absolutely embarrassed you?" Gregg: "NOTHING! We're going to keep doing EXACTLY what we were doing. Who else likes running into a wall head-first?" https://www.espn.com/soccer/united-...berhalter-pleased-with-us-despite-mexico-rout
Maybe, maybe not. They're different types of players. Pomykal is much more of a "free 8" driving into the box and making "stuff" happen. And of course he's a high motor guy, which I don't think of Yueill as. I'm fine with Yueill getting a shot. He's been playing well for San Jose. This is what friendlies are for. If we learn that he's nowhere near ready for this level, then we've learned something too. In friendlies I don't care if we lose 4-0 if we learn about players & provide opportunities in the process.
How much does this shitshow of a team lose by tonight? No way we score a goal. I'm going to say 4-0. Let's try and contain damage but continue the progress that's only visible and measurable internally.
It could get really ugly tonight... not at all sure why GB is so clueless w/ respect to strategy when you have inferior talent?.?.? Stress defense... focus on longer balls, counter-attacks and set pieces. You win a few balls in the midfield and strike quickly and perhaps you have a chance at an upset. But no... GB doesn't want to just win... he wants to win pretty... even though we don't have the talent to do so. This was a terrible hire IMO. Being in the CONCACAF is the only reason we have a reasonabler shot at making the 2022 big dance.... essentially by default. Meanwhile, Mexico is just a step down from being elite. I get the sense that things are going to get worse. I hope I am wrong.
He's going to start. Pulisic left, McKennie left, Morales is hurt. So we have Trapp, Roldan, Lleget, Pomykal. I can't imagine Trapp doesn't start. I will be reasonably happy if we get Josh + Sergino + some minutes for Paxton.
Roldan plays scared every time he put on the US jersey. Tim Ream is not an international quality soccer player. Trapp sucks... that's all. I was a big proponent for GGG but I feel like he's in over his head.
I don't think Uruguay will be going full motor. I expect 2-1 Uruguay, and General Egg tweets out an ecstatic memo detailing our Progress.
You guys see Pomykal throw shade at Zardes? Part of me wishes the young guys revolt and get Berhalter fired. 🗣 | Paxton Pomykal: "...we have youth that’s playing at a high level. Josh is getting Bundesliga minutes, as opposed to a 28-year-old who might be playing in a league not on that high of a level. Whether you’re 20 or 28, if you do the job, then you deserve the opportunity." pic.twitter.com/siIl5cH47i— USMNT Only (@usmntonly) September 10, 2019
Its going to be hard for Uruguay to hold it to a 1 goal edge. I'd say they cruise to another 3-0 ressult
They have one (1) BL player: RB Saracchi. He had 9 appearances last season acc to wiki. He's a teammate of Adams.
