found this on twitter on Real Madrid, they got big plans, but with just a 2 mill. it br hard to take them seriously. For instance Ada's salary is reported at over 400K. Lyon/PSG's budgets is something like in the 7-9 mil.l range. Even the French League's 4th place, Bordeaux, has upped it's budget to 2 mill. Will RM even play in the Spanish 1st dic, first time out? Womens Transfer News on Twitter: "Real Madrid are going all in for their inaugural season with a reported budget of €2 million, and they are gunning to sign multiple ‘galacticas’. Rumored targets include Pernille Harder, Ada Hegerberg, Amandine Henry, and Marta. (Source: @90min_Football).… https://t.co/sh9Ki7i08F"
I could see them nabbing Marta away from a struggling Pride team, but I don't see them making waves with Lyon (and even PSG, Barca, etc.) still holding most of best players. Real Madrid need to build their reputation up. I highly doubt they can just hope their name is a big enough draw for players.
Kosovare Aslani has ended her contract in Sweden and are according to Swedish media "close to" a deal with Real Madrid/CD Tacón, anyone heard anything more about that.
Kosvare have signed. At least if this Twitter says what Swedish media says it do, my Spanish isn't. https://twitter.com/CD_Tacon?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1151837630939705345&ref_url=https://www.expressen.se/sport/fotboll/just-nu-asllani-ar-klar-for-real-madrid/
🇪🇸 Proud to announce that I’ll be the first official signing for Real Madrid/Cd Tacon. Excited to write history, to help build and be part of this teams journey from the very start. It’ll be a dream to wear the most beautiful jersey in the world starting next season. Real Madrid is the greatest football club no doubt, but its women's team has just begun its buildup. It still has a long to way to catch up ATM and Barca, not to say Lyon. Asllani totally could have chosen "bigger" clubs based on her past success and WWC performance. But she chose to be Real's first signing to take the risk simply because Real is her favorite club. I am really touched and hope she could find her joy here, also be remembered as "the first of the Great Galactia" many years later.
they've just signed Sofia Jacobsson as well/ Question; as a brand new tean, will they play in Spain's first division?
They are not a brand new team, CD Tacón won promotion to Spain's first division last seasson and will play in it this seasson as CD Tacón (with Real as owner) and for the next seasson they will change the name to Real Madrid. AFAIK Real paid a cool 400 000 euros (slightly more in dollars) for CD Tacón and the main asset they got for that is the spot in Spain's first division.
She is still under contract with Linköping, and so far they have only gone after players that are free to move. May have mad one or two mistake on the keeper front, not going after Hedvig Lindahl or Sari van Veenendaal directly after the WWC when both still was available.
Seems they agreed they needed a new keeper, but didn't see any reason to go outside Spain. https://www.elespanol.com/elbernabe...femenino-cd-tacon-ana-valles/418208647_0.html (Spanish) So they got Ana Valles. And they have resigned twelve of CD Tacón's players from last seasson. https://www.elespanol.com/elbernabe...oce-futbolistas-reto-primera/417959128_0.html (Spanish) So I guess we should should get a few more announcements. 12+5=17 is a bit thin, although I think Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC did manage a successful season with just 18 players, but it was touch and go a few times.
Summer things: Barça beat Arsenal 5-2 in an away friendly - https://www.bigsoccer.com/posts/38072783 Atlético Madrid failed to become the universe's number 1 team in the Intergalactic Football League Athletic Bilbao won the Ramón de Carranza cup, then blew their budget on getting the trophy cabinet expanded - https://www.bigsoccer.com/posts/38087062 Sociedad beat Athletic in the annual Basque cup - https://www.bigsoccer.com/posts/38107613 That is great news, although no announcement yet by Uefa or Uefa.tv. First match of the season is Sevilla v Tenerife on Saturday 7 September (09:00 GMT / 11:00 CET). https://www.laliga.com/noticias/conoce-el-calendario-oficial-de-la-primera-division-femenina-2019-20 2019/20, Week 1: Sporting Huelva- Atlético de Madrid Barcelona - CD Tacón Levante - Athletic Madrid CFF - R. Betis Logroño - Rayo Femenino Sevilla - UDG Tenerife Deportivo - Espanyol Valencia - Real Sociedad I hadn't heard of this "Real Madrid" or "CD Takeóver" before, but let's wish them good luck, whoever they are. (oh wait, memories are flooding back...) Inconsiderate - now two teams in the league have the same kit, and I'm forced to refer to Madrid CFF as "the real Real Madrid women's", an unwieldy phrase. Tacón, with Asllani and Jakobsson, have played 2 matches that are available to watch. They entered the Ramón de Carranza trophy in Cádiz in the southwest, and hosted Sevilla at the Valdebebas ground, losing both games narrowly. Trofeo Carranza: Athletic Bilbao 1 - Tacón 0 (13-08-19) - Highlights, youtu.be/8CWrfdRTpdQ - Full match, youtu.be/SOC-OKTYrVE CD Tacón 2 - 3 FC Sevilla - Highlights, youtu.be/terxB0cHBLY - Full, youtu.be/zk90qNcWdxo - Match report (Archived)
It looks like this new club the Madrid Reallies are already a success ...and a disaster for PSG: @temesgen, that's awesome. The first game for Real, or Tacón as they're still known, is away at Barcelona (Sep 7), at the new Johan Cruyff Stadium. Could be very tough – I think Barca will be out to prove a point too. What I'm saying is, if it doesn't go so well, nobody panic, just keep the faith.
5 days to kickoff... Deportivo La Coruña, newly promoted to the Liga, got a 4-2 win over Champions League opponents, Portugal's Braga. Real Betis are back at work, but without their players on Aug/Sep international duty: Merel van Dongen (NED), Irene Guerrero (ESP), Michaela Abam (CMR) and Marina Fedorova (RUS) Levante (3rd in 2018/19) have signed ex-Atlético forward Esther González, Macedonia's top scorer Nataša Andonova, Spain's Alba Redondo, midfielder Gemma Gili, and long-serving Liga defender Rocío Gálvez. After 11 years, can they win something? Levante couldn't win the Andrea Esteban trophy – neighbours Valencia won the preseason cup 1-0 (goal by Alejandra Serrano) for Valencia's new coach Irene Ferreras. Coaching trouble at Rayo Vallecano in Madrid – Ferreras left them in May, then Jessica Rodriguez left after 6 weeks in the job in mysterious circumstances, but it sounds like she was forced out. The youth coach Carlos Santiso is the temporary manager of Rayo. The team avoided relegation in 2018/19, but have lost a few squad members. - https://www.unionrayo.es/mercado-de-fichajes-altas-y-bajas-del-rayo-femenino-2019-2020/ (Archived)
1 days to kickoffs... The internationals are here - a list of Liga players from overseas, 38 countries: La Primera Iberdrola más internacional - https://www.laliga.com/noticias/la-primera-iberdrola-mas-internacional (Archived) Barcelona are broadcasting their own games (Photo: Steffen Prößdorf, cc-by-sa) There's a legal battle over the TV rights, and the pro players' collective agreement, going into the start of the season. The RFEF federation wanted to sell media rights wholesale, but legally it can't, as 13 clubs sold their games together to Mediapro for the next 3 seasons - but Barça, Tacón and Athletic Bilbao didn't. Those clubs' home games aren't on Gol Television in Spain. - www.sport.es/es/noticias/futbol-femenino/liga-femenina-arranca-con-conflicto-audiovisual-pendiente-sin-convenio-colectivo-7621017, Autotranslated (Archived) Tacón means "heel"? Oh, that's too good. (A "heel" is someone you don't want to support because of their past terrible behaviour.) Never mind that. Good luck to Heel and all the other teams too!
The funny thing is that, as an Italian from Milan, everytime I hear the word "Tacón" I am reminded of an old saying in Milan's local vernacular that reads "L'è pegg el tacón del buso", meaning "The patch is worse than the rip" (where "tacón" means "patch").
LIVE FC Barcelona Femení v CD Tacón #noesunclásico Saturday 7 Sep (16:00 GMT / 18:00 CET) Levante v Athletic Bilbao is the other standout tie of the weekend, 3rd vs 5th last season. Athletic's new coach Ángel Villacampa replaced Joseba Agirre, who stepped down to became a club director. Both have had success, but can Villacampa take the Bilbao club back to the top level? He was Atlético Madrid's coach, won 2 titles with a team that was almost unbeatable in Spain, but lost the job in 2018, blamed for the disastrous loss to Wolfsburg. But the players are the stars - for the new season El Correo chose 4 favourites: Caroline Graham Hansen, Charlyn Corral, Sonia Bermúdez and Jenni Hermoso. Thanks, I'll try to come up with a pun on this later
For me Athletic-Levante is the actual Clásico. It's no Atlético-Barcelona, but they're the only two teams that have been in the top of the table most seasons for nearly twenty years. Amazing start from Sevilla, with a 4-0 win over Granadilla, no small opponent. Virgy García was great with that awesome free-kick and the two assists and I really like the aerial playing in Maite Albarrán's goal. From the preseason they've been looking like they might be able to pull off a big jump in the table like Betis did two years ago.
