Hey Ernie...... Hows your boy looking now? How will you get rid of him with his bro in the admin? We are screwed. btw... Sargent totally outplayed yur homeboy
Again, we fielded 7 regulars from Ajax, Besiktas, the EPL, and the B1. Yet, we somehow managed to look worse than in any of our previous full-team matches against Mexico this century. This program is going backwards.
We have to fire Berhalter. Trapp, Zardes, Ream, Lovitz, and your other Columbus Crew friends should not be on the roster. Doesn't make sound tactical adjustments. This guy talks a big game but is completely out of his depth.
Berhalter is horrific in tactically lining up, but the sad part is I think his subs are nearly as bad. No identity and the team has no cohesion. There is no real plan other than to invite a press and then turn the ball over. He won't be fired, but JK and Bob were fired for similar performances.
This is what happens when you try to play tike taka in near your box and you do not have the personnel! Sure it looks pretty when Barcelona does it, but this Gregg Berhalter needs to understand that we are hunderds of years behind the Barcelona FC level. As a coach, why would you tell your players to do this? Is this somekind of soccer harakiri?
Nah...Pulisic loves the US. He loves playing for the US colors, it's his hometown. It's unfortunate we got a shit coach.
Chandler was a very effective RB for the US, so naturally Bob made him play left back. Dest looks like a promising, Champions league caliber right back, so naturally Beerholder needs to play him as a left back...how many time can US coaches make the same mistakes?
The team looked a bit more dangerous going forward in the 2nd half once Lleget, Sargent and Morris came in but not good enough. If nothing else I thing Berhalter has to do better with players selection. Now I will say this, things like Tyler Boyd struggling I dont put on Berhalter. But Zardes and Trapp just arent dynamic enough tight now
I don’t hate triple g like a lot of y’all, but that really was awful coaching tonight. Everyone and their dog could see Steffen and the defense couldn’t play out of the back - reminded me of some NYC versus Red Bull’s where they just feasted on lack of composure out of the back. We depend heavily on being more than the sum of our parts but we continue to be worse. People need to get over the Pulisic worship - he’s got a long way to go to being our best player ever.
GB is definitely the wrong coach... but the player pool is pretty poor too. CP is our best player and even he can't play a complete 90 minutes. Then he gives the PK to Sargent and he misses. Yikes. But overall it seems like we don't have nearly the talent to play the way GB wants. We keep giving up the weakest goals and when we bring numbers forward we are woefully unprepared for the counter-attack. Should have been 5-0... er 5-1. I am ashamed right now. That was embarrassing.
A decade of not developing any other midfielder AND sticking with a midfielder who is not developed. That is why the Will Trap's of the world exist.
Well .... they made a lot of money from ticket sales and they got their money’s worth from Stuey ranting about the great MLS players. The USSF is a cabal and tied in well to MLS and to their financial officer.
Nah. We’ve got talent. Are we a top 10 talented team? No. But we should be able to contend, talent-wise, with anyone outside the top 6.
The moment our foreign stars stopped showing up, it's the moment fans stop watching, ticket sales crash, tv ratings stunk, sponsors walked. Money talk, buddy. Let's be honest, people tune in to see Pulisic. The Chelsea man that cost $70+ millions.
Disappointing game, horrible coaching, but at least we got the chance to watch some of the wrong players start.
What a waste of a opportunity to at least get a decent coach. A year and they wouldn't even go outside the MLS pool.
Sooner or later conflict of interest is always a cancer, even if you think your purity of heart compensates.
