Chelsea's Abraham Informs NFF When He'll Make Decision On International Future :: All Nigeria Soccer - The Complete Nigerian Football Portal https://t.co/UHvRakXxrL— AllNigeriaSoccer (@Editor_ANS) September 3, 2019 So according to this debatable source, Abraham will let Nigeria know in April 2020 about whether he would play for them. Just reading between the lines I would say, he’s waiting for an England call up I would guess this year and if not maybe he will consider switching.
Don't waste your time trying to decipher something that there's no reason to believe. We've seen that exact article copied and pasted over and over, with a different players name inserted, at every International break for the several years.
Yeah, you’re probably right, seen to many fabricated articles from that site over the years to really believe it.
As an Nigerian fan, I would rather Tammy Abraham stick with England. It’s clear his agent and him are leveraging and using Nigeria to get an England call up. If he really wanted to play for Nigeria he would accepted the call up for the 2018 World Cup. Also he has previously said that’s he’s committed to England. https://africa.espn.com/football/sw...ard-tammy-abraham-firmly-committed-to-england
I wouldn’t necessarily say fabricated. The Independent also reported the news about Tammy Abraham. It’s just that they are playing the journalists to suit their needs (England call up).
Did the Independent really report it? Or did they just aggregate it. Which is what always happens and how this stuff spreads and becomes ingrained as 'reality'.
Sorry it was the Telegraph https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....emain-committed-england-despite-pressure/amp/
To be fair, your probably right. But a part of me thinks the players involved don’t mind the news being out there if it helps them getting a call up for their preferred nation.
A bit late as Norway cap tied him in the last international break but Erling Braut Haaland was born in Leeds: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erling_Braut_Håland
What a shame we missed out on haaland , born in England, he scored a hatrick tonight in the champions League. He's now been capped competitively for Norway. Not sure he would have chosen us. Reminds me of when we inquired about Kasper schmiechel.
I'm OK with that. He is Norwegian, his father was a well-known Norwegian international player, I would have found it strange if he'd choosed England.
Yeah I agree. I don't think he was ever England's to lose in all honesty. He was born here because his dad was playing here at the time. I wouldn't want the fa picking players just because of a technicality a la Ireland.
Wonder if someone on the Norwegian forum was saying they best cap-tie him before that pesky third-rate nation England try stealing him?
Steven Alzate (Born in England to Colombian parents) made his PL debut. Might be on the England U21 radar but has said he wants to play for Colombia - “If they call me, I’d love to play for the Colombian national team more than England, only because of my Colombian roots. “Although I’m in England, I feel more Colombian. It would be an honour to play for Colombia”
Tbh I'm not worried about losing Abraham for two reasons. Firstly, I think he sees himself as fully English and remains very intent on playing for us. Secondly even if the worst comes to the worst and he does pick Nigeria, we're not exactly gonna be light up front in the coming years. Aside from Sterling, Kane, Rashford, Sancho and CHO we've also got Greenwood on the way. I'm far more worried about Tomori as he said something along the lines of he'll seriously consider Nigeria depending on what happens in this international break. Even though I don't particularly like his attitude considering he's only just started playing top flight football and is already clamouring for an international call up as well as the fact he's spent almost his whole life in England so should be more loyal, it would be a blow to lose him. There's such a dearth of centre back options atm and with Stones looking like he'll always be average and Gomez' immediate future looking uncertain, we could really do with an addition there.
It's stupid to parse the responses they give to questions so seriously. This forum spends way too much time discussing dual national players and there future decisions when there's no evidence to do so.
I think it's refreshing to see us English discussing dual players in more length. Historically, the English way has been 'forget them if they don't feel 100 percent English'. This is what has led to Wales stealing some of our best young players because they have had a more open mind to duals. Whether the player has said something or not, it's always good to be aware of their backgrounds just incase.
Tammy Abraham ready to accept England call up to end debate over international future. @Matt_Law_DT reports - https://t.co/8iSL21eD8y— Telegraph Football (@TeleFootball) September 30, 2019 Tammy Abraham set to reject Nigeria and commit to England if selected by Gareth Southgate this week | @SamiMokbel81_DM https://t.co/F8NkjOhTLE pic.twitter.com/OdXEQk9NMp— Mail Sport (@MailSport) September 30, 2019

Where's the evidence that Wales had a more open mind to dual nationals? England play loads of dual nationals. Guys like Brooks were kept out of the International set-up in the lower age groups, mainly by dual nationals. England can't possibly keep everyone. It's just so tiresome to hear the exact same conversations on here that never amount to anything but go round and round in an identical manner.
I'm not sure how true you could say this even is, Wales haven't really got many of England' better youth players if you actually look at it and England just have an extremely high level of dual (and often these days, triple) nationals. France have much the same issue, the more talent you produce its inevitable a few will slip through the net.
Nigeria's coach said Abraham and Tomori aren't willing to discuss their international futures with them. He also said Abraham has been assured of that he'll be in the England squad.
Not sure if this has been mentioned but apparently Ojo has started the process of switching to Nigeria. Not really shocked by this tbh as he’s miles away at the minute for an England call up but you never know, could come back in the future to bite us on the ass but you can’t keep them all.
What i meant with Wales is that they've spoken before about allowing players to try England out and if they don't like it, they can come back. They seem more relaxed about dual players. They seem better at nurturing young, dual players too. That's just my opinion but I the our fa could learn a thing or two about how to treat young players.
