You're the king of talking out your ass. You've been cheering for Chelsea for longer than I've been alive? 57 years? I doubt it.

Like I said, I'm asking you other than the goal, what did Mount do?

Ya, that's the one incisive pass he made, but I'd say Puli's take down was better than the pass.

Great point. The answer is not a whole lot, they had very similar games. He disappeared for large stretches of the game (like Pulisic) with some bright moments (like Pulisic) and looked worn out at 60 minutes (like Pulisic). However, for whatever reason, eg Mount is Lampards protege, Mount is English, Mount scores goals instead of assists, etc he is subject to lesser criticism.

Really? Both were fairly routine, although well executed. Not sure why you'd even bother to compare except for this need on BS to elevate our guy over those they're compared to, or compete with for minutes, by disecting every minute detail.

He controlled the midfield! Don't believe me then try reading some of the reports! Or try actually watching the game!

Guys forget it. He’s English and we aren’t therefore we don’t know what we’re seeing.

Enjoyed watching CP in the Norwich match and agree with the positive assessments above. He's starting, and he's making an impact. I'll take it this early in the season.

Also noticed that Azpilicueta and CP seem to be developing a nice chemistry on the right side and looking for each other's runs.

I'd disagree, I'd say it's way harder to get positioned under a 40 yard lofted ball and bring it down at your feet in one touch than to hit a reasonably accurate 40 yard lofted ball.

I responded to a post that said Puli was "just ok" by saying "Aside from Mount's goal, I thought Puli was more influential than Mount (and Mount doesn't score w/o Puli's play), and Barkley (by far)."

If that's how you want to characterize what I did, ok.

I'm happy to criticize YA's when they deserve it. I thought Puli played better than just ok. "Dissecting every minute detail." Seems like it would be kind of weird to discuss how a player did, w/o discussing actual things that happened in the match. If you want to call bringing down a lofted 40 yard ball perfectly, in the build up to a goal a minute play, then I'm not sure what you're watching.

I did not watch the game or any highlights or have read anything about the game, but I thought that CP was great, the way he dribbled was majestic and the way he probably passed the ball was top class.

    End Sarcasm.

OK, now I see what you did there.

I guess we can agree to disagree. Both were fairly simple to me.

What a relief to not see Pissick's bad attitude.

Ebbro on Mount's one important pass: He played a very nice cross field ball to Pulisic on the first goal.
Ebbro on Mount's one important pass: Fairly routine but well executed.

So, what did Mount do again to earn POM?

I'm not dissing Mount, he's a very good player, and a great story. Just saying Puli played well.

It was one example of a nice pass (you couldn't remember one). I'm sure he did more, but I didn't pay close attention. I'm not arguing why he was or wasn't MOTM.

Perhaps you should check out the press reports, perhaps they can enlighten you! Or you can try 'Googling' if you like? Failing that you could ask Frank Lampard OBE, a man who played 647 pro games, a man who scored more goals than any other Chelsea player in their 100+ year history, a man with a further 106 international caps and 29 international goals, a man who has already managed two clubs, a man who's uncle has been a manager at the top level since Jesus was a lad, a man who's father played 584 professional football matches 551 of which were for West Ham, still - what would he know! :)

Oh grow up! You've asked me and I've told you, he had a great match, ask Lampard and he will say the same thing, in fact ask anybody that knows anything about football and they will say the same thing.

Pulisic has yet to hit his best form but lets face it he is in a 'new' unfamiliar league and he needs to adjust, there are 'differences' between leagues that take some getting used to, there have been high profile players in the past that have taken a bit of time, Pulisic has started his career at Stamford Bridge well.

Honestly I am speaking for myself, Mount had a great game, along with Kovacic and Abraham, as for Lampard himself do you know exaclty what he was 'supposed' to have said about 9/11? I think you will find he didn't 'mock' victims at all,

Today was another game that Pulisic needed to be an impact player in, and he was on the periphery again. He's going to have trouble keeping a starting place once CHO and RLC come back.

He showed well when playing in the centre; he was a non factor along the touchline.

Oddly the USMNT is hyping him for a winger spot over his recent appearances as a cmid/cam. I"d like to see him get more reps at the same position he played in the Gold Cup when he arrives to play Mex and Uruguay in the Sep window.

I haven't watched the Chelsea match from this weekend.

But, based on reviews, I will continue my broken record theme: Right now, Puli is an 8. There is nothing wrong with being one of the better 8's in the world. As I said before the season started, if Puli settles into a role that gives him regular playing time at Chelsea, my guess is that it will be as an 8. He's not a good enough playmaker or scorer to give him minutes anywhere else. He may grow into being more proficient/efficient at creating/scoring goals. But, right now, it's not there.

And, I think Berhalter should look at it that way. With Adams out, we should be playing a midfield of:

    ----------------playmaker
    ----------------------------------Puli
    ------------Wes

Who is the playmaker? I don't know. But whomever it is, we lose less play making going from Puli to the mystery man than we add in ball advancement and energy in the midfield going from whomever to Puli.

When(ever) Adams comes back, we have a logjam of 6/8's. But, for now, imo, Puli should be Transition Man.

It's ok to be a 10 and score goals instead of "creating" goals for others. Miggy Almiron scored and assisted by running thru midfield. He was Atlanta's best possession guy. Martinez broke the MLS record for goals playing with Almiron. I'd view Pulisic and Almiron as effectively the same type of player.

Except that Puli very rarely scores. I hate to say it, I'll get metaphorically killed for it, but ...... there is a Robbie Rogers element to Puli's game. At least with regards to goal scoring. Rogers could put himself in great positions in front of goal, as well as Puli. But, then he closed his eyes and just randomly kicked the ball. Puli is not as bad as that in front of goal. But, he is (currently) not a natural goal scorer. He's 20. Hopefully he'll get there.

Are you implying that Almiron has been scoring in England?
