Surprise, surprise! We did absolutely nothing in the final days of the transfer window. Sold Keylor, got Areola. Pretty much a non-issue as far as I'm concerned. Too bad. Because right now all these injuries are giving us a grim outlook. I hope things change soon.
As I've stated in previous posts the window was incomplete. We need to sell next summer and build this mother********ing MIDFIELD!
Gotta feel bad for Lucas Silva - guy can't even make it on a bigsoccer transfers list - no wonder he hasn't found himself a club.
I agree this is the ticket. We just need Zidane to somehow drop Kroos for James and Varane for Militao...
To be honest we got very good reinforcements. Hazard, Mendy, Jovic and Militao are all awesome and they will prove their worth pretty soon. The problem is the lack of transfers in midfield, unless you count James as a reinforcement. For me the problem remains Zidane and the bad (2 season long, longer in some cases) form of the usual suspects.
The problem with our transfer windows in the last few years imo is that we are not signing world class players,we are signing "could be" players. Militao could be world class/as good as De Ligt,Mendy could be one of the best lb in the world,Rodrygo/Vinicius could be the next Neymar,Jovic could be the next Suarez/Leva....Brahim/Ceballos could be .the next big spanish stars. In the past our transfers were WORLD CLASS players..CR,Xabi Alonso,Benzema ,KAKA(yeah we was done but still)in 2009 WORLD CLASS. Luka Modric the best midfirlder in the PL according to the GOAT sir Alex himself. Toni Kroos Bayern Munichs our big eurorivals best midfielder !!!! Bale the PL player of the year !Kovacic Inters best midfilder......etc We bought world class and we had a world class team ...now its could be /should be players .....not good enough to compete
I think most of you would be more confident if we would see a Zizou with a clear plan. We saw everything so far : 4 4 2 , 3 5 2 , 4 3 3 , 4 2 3 1. None of those really worked out because the real problem stays : he hasn't got a tactical sound plan. We are really predictable and cross too much. There is zero movement off ball. We are at the beginning of la liga , 4 points behind and still searching on how to play. On top of that some of our best players are injured.
Hazard is/was one of the world's best players, Courtois was voted best goalkeeper in the world cup. A problem is that as soon as a player wears the shirt a lot of "Real Madrid fans" instantly consider him a lesser player.
Militao is better than De Ligt and my assessment has nothing to do with the Napoli game. Reguillion isn’t as a good and certainly not better than Mendy, he is an excellent signing and in this market 50 mil isn’t that big of a deal. I don’t know how long Hazard’s career would be at Madrid but I’m sure for the next couple of seasons he’ll come through for us, we got a bunch of youngsters who would have matured by then waiting on the wings. Jovic is not meh and we’ve addressed everything except the midfield issue.
I have been watching Ceballos closely at Arsenel this season and he impresses me.Has nimble feet.I hope he comes back to Madrid once his loan spell has finished. I think Madrid should not loose their values and always have some influx of home grown talent.Hence will benefit the Spanish national team as well.
Not for me .Ramos still has a lot to give and I can see him going for another 3 years or even more.I think its important that Madrid keep its values of employing the best of Spain and the rest of the world.Without it they would loose something which has kept the club unique and the best in the world.
I'm OK with this summer except for paying 50 mil € for a guy that is not better the Reguilon. I said that the day it was announced and I will be proven right. We also could have sold Isco or James and replaced then with a midfielder who can cover for Casemiro, but if players don't want to move or some Italian cheapskate is trying to rip us off then there's not much we can do. Aa for operafion Bale, if the guy makes us all eat our words this season, then I'll be happy. I will say one thing, when I see Kovac trying to sign the likes of Rebic to play for Bayern it makes me laugh because it's Bayern. When Zidane is looking at French players only it fuçkin annoys me and Flo needs to stop that with an iron fist.
Ligt has personality and good technique, but even I pointed out his lack of pace and average mobility is a big worry as a defender last season. Just because Ajax had a great system and Ligt scored headers, doesn't mean they were solid defensively. Vinicius owned him with that move and he had trouble with pacy players against Spurs too. Militao meanwhile dealt with Salah well on 1v1 as RB. Teams that have him will know his quality just like Pepe was underrated outside RM fans who watched him weekly. Ligt hypetrain folks never talk about his defensive shortcomings. Whenever he looks slow and lacks agility against fast players - "it's just Vinicius, just Moura, just Napoli".
These Reguilon fans are even worse than Navas stans holy shit. Iscodisco, Hendrix and other resident cucks combining to moan and cry and add years to players ages.
Reguilon is absolutely flying in Sevilla. Strong defensively and highly active offensively. What exactly makes Mendy better, let alone 50M better? As for Militao. The thing is, he is not playing at the moment. Which is strange considering how bad Varane and Ramos are. Hopefully he gets a starting position as CB, and we see what he is capable of in Madrid.
Beginning of mercato was awesome. we covered some spots we needed. Transfers were negotiated early, and we just had to close the deals. The problem is that many, me included, people believed that we started fast because we would then work on the most important problem we had: the midfield. In the end, we tried Pogba, and that's it. I feel I should reate it 7/10 because below would be harsh, but I'll be honest with what I think, and rate it 6/10.
As in we won’t win CL, 2nd/3rd in league, and mabey take Copa del Rey?? Cause it doesn’t get much worse for this team
Reguilon has turned to Roberto Carlos on this forum. I thought the Marcos Llorente hype would never be beat but wow.
