Mattheus has apparently pissed off 2 head coaches. Technically, 3 with JJ. There has to be some reason why. Dude had 2 assists this weekend.

Lot of solid moves. 7 mil for podence is a steal.

These loans are real interesting. All of them must be on ridiculous contracts, I wonder if were paying full wages for them. Doubt there'd be much of a chance, if any, to sign them full time.

A CB would've been nice but overall much better than I expected.

Wow big ups to Varandas getting all this done. What a hectic day today was. The guys we got are upgrades but let's see if it pans out.

Official: One more contract termination, Wallyson leaves the club.

I think that will do it for the summer transfer window. Whats your guys take on this crazy last day?

Got some good money, not a fan of the Jese move, but he's only 26.

More wingers when we already have wigners, but these dudes provide an upgrade in talent. Kind of glad they're loan deals though.

Wish we'd get another CB. Don't trust Coates at all on this team

My thoughts: the board did a terrific job offloading most of the deadweight and alleviating a huge chunk of salaries being paid to athletes who were essentially on vacation. The sales today were really good (Thierry for 12M at this moment of his career is fantastic), and the loan signings are low risk/high reward (if it's a flop he'll just leave at the end of the season or even sooner). If we get the Jese from Real Madrid he could be a game changer, but its a big if. Same with Bolasie, he's physically strong but technically skilled, but a big injury couple years ago meant he was never the same player. Also the players loaned out (if sold) could make us a cool 20 million at the end of the season. Podence was also a nice surprise - 7 mill for a player who never scored a senior goal for us.

We've also managed to hold on to our key player, although it can be argued that not selling him is what caused this hectic transfer window.

Negatives - I don't see how loaning Fernando is beneficial unless he's a crazy talent that will help us win a title. Any loan we get has to have an option to buy so that we at least have an option to keep the player.

Summary of arrivals and departures below shows a profit of almost 30M JUST on transfer fees, BUT if you factor the salaries we've saved by getting rid of Bas Dost and others, that's like an extra 12-15 million in salaries we save, hopefully to be used for talent.

    Arrivals:
    Valentin Rosier (RB) - 8M
    Luciano Vietto (FW) - 7.5M
    Rafael Camacho (RW) - 5M
    Eduardo Henrique (MF) - 3M
Luis Neto (CB) - free transfer
Fernando (LW) - 1 year loan, no option to buy
Yannick Bolasie (LW) - 1 year loan, no option to buy
Jese Rodriguez (FW) - 1 year loan WITH option to buy (undisclosed, but has been rumoured to be 10-12M)
    TOTAL SPENT: 23.5M

    Departures:
Raphinha (RW) - 21M (we owe 3rd party 20% of profit of the sale, which amounts to 2.5M)
    Thierry Correia (RB) - 12M
    Bas Dost (FW) - 7M
    Daniel Podence (RW) - 7M
    Domingos Duarte (CB) - 3M
    Jonathan Silva (LB) - 3M
    Iuri Medeiros (RW) - 2M
Romain Salin (GK) - free transfer, we hold onto percentage of his rights
Carlos Mane (RW) - free transfer, we hold onto percentage of his rights
Ryan Gauld - free transfer, we hold onto percentage of his rights
Alan Ruiz (MF) - loaned out
Gelson Dala - loaned out, option to sell for 4.5M
    Bruno Gaspar - loaned out
    Lumor - loaned out
Radosav Petrovic - free transfer, we hold onto percentage of his rights
Andre Pinto - free transfer, we hold onto percentage of his rights
Abdoulay Diaby - loaned out, option to buy for 5M
Matheus Pereira - loaned out, option to buy for 8M
Francisco Geraldes - loaned out, option to buy?
    Jefferson - terminated contract
    Wallyson - terminated contract
    TOTAL TRANSFER INCOME: 52.5M

I'll take the 52.5 mil! It helps with all the money we owe. The board did great today.

I think the signings are all upgrades on the guys we sold, but we got a shit ton of wingers. The obvious thing to do was to get some new CBs but that didn't happen. So I don't understand the logic behind this. These new guys can light it up but it doesn't remove the fact that our D is horrible. At least start Neto next game

Coates is suspended anyway and I believe Neto has quality.

Now that Thierry is gone, hopefully Rosier and Ristvoski are back.

Also about the wingers. Jese i think is gonna be thrown up front as a mobile forward. Bolasie and fernando on the wings. But yeah its a totally new attack we have now so its a mystery (also questions about the coach and if he stays)

I would have liked to have seen this earlier in summer. It will take a month or two for all these new faces to build some chemistry.

Record says that Jese has an option to buy for 7M and Bolasie with an option for 4.5M. Pretty affordable for two players IF they come here with the right mentality (they're contracts are probably a different story).

Just don't get Fernando. No option to buy for a 20 year old?

Heard we're paying a third of Jese's salary right now too. Not bad.

Really liked what Bolasie had to say in his first interview in an SCP shirt. Hopefully he can transfer that excitement onto the pitch.

In his interview today, the president spoke about the transfer activity:

    - He said we raked in roughly 60 million and losing only one clear starter (Raphinha) while managing to keep our most valuable player
    - He confirmed that there proposals for Bruno Fernandes but only one concrete offer was made from Tottenham for 45M + 20M in objectives with the objectives being winning the premier league and champions league, which Varandas thought were not good enough since they've never won
    - He said that between Bruno and Raphinha, only one would be sold, not both. When he realized Bruno was staying he was open to offers for Raphinha
    - admitted that the deal for Dost is not the one he wanted but the player wanted to leave since May and they planned the season without him (makes me wonder though why they didnt have a name lined up), also confirmed his salary was 6M a year and his agent stalled the deal
    - considers the window to be a success, netting 60M and getting rid of most of the deadweight players which were taking up 25% of the clubs budget, saying it was 15M a year in salary
    - He also said Bruno won't be getting 5M from nowhere, instead they struck a deal to give him a bigger salary

All solid stuff here. His big mistake was Keizer, but lets see how he handles the new coach search.

Verandas said today that it would have been easy to spend 10-12mil on a striker, but hed prefer to spend that money in the academy.

Hopefully he means it, looking like BF might be the only portuguese starter this year.

I'm glad to hear that. We really need to focus on our academy and build these young players and actually use them.

I read not long ago that we spend about 6 mill a year on our academy. Selling Thierry pays 2 years if you look at it that way. But Benfica in comparison spends 15 mill a year on theirs.

Sporting SAD reported at the end of the 2018/19 fiscal year (which ended June 30, 2019) a deficit of 7.87 million euros, better than the 19.9 million deficit a year before.

Among other things were the official transfer fees paid for players in the winter and summer (again, only until June 30, 2019 so it doesn't count the 3 loaned players or the players sold in August like Thierry, Raphinha, Dost):

    Winter:
Idrissa Doumbia cost a total of 4.4 million - 3.8 + 600K in commissions for 100% of his rights
Cristian Borja cost a total of 3.6 million - 3.2 + 400K in commissions for 80% of his rights
Tiago Ilori cost a total of 2.4 million for 100%
    Gonzalo Plata cost 1.5 million - 1.1 + 400K in commissions for 50%
Renan Ribeiro cost 1.1 million for 100%
    Luiz Phellype cost 700K - 500K + 200K in commissions for 100%
Total: 12.1M in transfer fees - 13.6 million including commissions paid

    Summer:
    Vietto cost 7.9 million - 7.5 + 400K in commissions for 100%
    Camacho cost 5.6 million - 5 + 600K in commissions for 100%
    Rosier cost 5.3 million - 5 + 300K in commissions for 100%
Luis Neto cost 800K in commissions (free transfer)
Total: 17.5M in transfer fees - 19.6 million including commissions paid

Some other notes from the report:
    - Total income was 15.9 million less than the previous year, mostly due to no Champions League.
    - Expenses also went down by 5.5 million compared to previous year
    - The investment of 19.6 million made in the summer was justified by the sales and salary reduction of Bas Dost, Petrovic and Raphinha, the loans of Diaby and Gaspar, and the termination of Andre Pinto, Jefferson and Wallyson which aren't included
