I hope we get our 70 million if true. It's a great deal considering we get to keep him for one more year. No disrespect to Monaco though but I think Bruno deserves a bigger team that is consistently in Champions League.
Fiorentina's football director was questioned about Raphinha today and he said "Raphinha is likely off the market because Bruno Fernandes is on his way to Real Madrid for 70 million euros". All the media outlets are picking it up.
Makes no sense for Madrid to pay 70 million to leave him. Would be reasonable if the price was lower because he is loaned back.
Win for everyone there. BF goes to the best club in the world, we get a nice sum. Hopefully Jorge Mendes lets us keep more than 50% of it..
After suffering through the thought of him going to a Manchester club, if he heads to Madrid I'd he ecstatic. Madrid needs a goal scoring mid badly. Guess James and Isco would be gone if this actually happens.
Yeah, I think he'd thrive in a super offensive team like that too. If Varandas actually pulled off keeping him for a year and still selling him for 70, pretty fantastic move on his part. Seems odd that Real would do that for someone who isn't a prospect and is unlikely to get better here though.
If Bruno is being sold and still staying for another year, how would Raphinha be off the market? And it's really hard to believe he'll be sold and still staying for another year. That's a huge risk for Madrid. Knock on wood, but what if he sustained a serious injury?
The value would already make it the best sale ever, but if he stays another year it would be simply fantastic. It looks like Real are having trouble selling Isco or James so it makes sense, FFP and La liga rules are pretty strict and RM have spent alot. The player would play another year and then exit the club with dignity, staying in our history books for the records he broke and for the money involved. And by the time the summer of 2020 comes we aren't left wondering if he stays or goes and can calmly plan out the squad in advance. Also we don't lose our timing on selling players like we have done in the past. We can "anticipate" the money and get Robertone or whoever is his replacement in, and sign a striker we need. And more importantly, pay off debts we owe to get out of our financial hole.
Liverpool in the past bought Naby Keita in august 2017 and he stayed another year in Leipzig. And Pulisic signed with Chelsea 6 months before moving there. So its not unheard of. I think once the contract is signed, it's their problem now.
I'd like to add that although Fiorentina's director mentioned Madrid specifically, the media still say that Madrid is a "potential" interested party and that there are two other clubs from England and Spain willing to meet these conditions. So it could be that we have 3 clubs here all matching bids and the player is the one who decides where to go. We'll have to wait and see. Edit: Hugo Viana our own football director said the declarations by Fiorentina's director were inappropriate. "Sporting do not comment on the lives of other clubs, but they consider the timing of market issues to be inappropriate and lightweight" He didn't deny the deal which seems important.
Madrid are now saying that the rumors of them signing Bruno Fernandes are not correct, lol. I'm not believing anything until i see BF in a different jersey. Lol
Bruno confirmed in an interview that he had an agreement with Tottenham but that Sporting blocked the move as they never offered the money that Sporting was asking for. However he mentioned he wasn't bitter about it. He respects the clubs decision and said he was proud the club considered him so valuable and that he was proud to continue playing for a big club like Sporting, although reiterating his desire to one day play in the Premier League.
How are clubs allowed to come to an agreement with the player before coming to an agreement with the club? Shouldn't they have to go through the club first. Anyways this is a true professional and captain. Night and day difference in attitude than Adrien.
I will reserve my judgement on how much better of an attitude he has if he ends up staying and doesnt actually get the rumored 5 million Euro bonus
Maybe if they strike a deal now to sell him next year like it was reported they won't have to pay that. Bruno Gaspar was spotted in Greece ahead of a possible move to Olympiakos. The deal is likely a loan with option to buy. While I don't really agree we should deal with them because of Podence, money is money, and maybe there's been developments with Podence.
Well I mean he didnt go to the press and announce hes leaving before a deal was struck, so easily more of a professional already
Would make sense why we'd let Bruno Gaspar go there. Honestly though just shipping him there is already payment enough LOL. The last trojan horse left by BdC, signing a RB like this for over 4 million. Rennes and Fiorentina continue to insist on Raphinha. Would you sell at this point, the market closing tomorrow? Rumours that the bids are at 22 million now.
