EH on the bench to start v. Timbers, looks like. And I think he needs new headphones. That baby blue does not work with the ATL gear...

also, Hyndman a 2nd half sub (61 for Nagbe) as Atlanta win 1-0 at Orlando. Goal scored just before EH came on.

20 and 30 min sub appearances the past 2 games. Comes in and is solid but nothing special. Holds down the fort and provides fresh legs. Had nice attempt from top of the box that was blocked, not much else in either game.

This game was interesting and something I wanted to see. He cam in for Nagbe and played a deeper role. I thought he did very good defensively. He was well positioned, communicated runners to team mates, he pressured the ball, and caused turnovers. He was his usual self on the ball.... Constantly showing for the ball, clean touches, made the simple passes and connected with team mates.

This game showed his versatility and further my opinion that if he isnt going to start in the front 5, he is potentially an upgrade over nagbe. He is much of more well rounded player such that whatever he gives up in athleticism, he makes up for in intelligence, combination play, and being a threat when going forward.

Season long loan with option to buy. So unless Bournemouth trigger emergency return clause before end of the season...or Atlanta doesnt buy him.

    I believe.

So you expect a multi-year loan? Because otherwise it can't be soon after an ATL championship. Have you seen LAFC?

Jesus, in all truth, Emerson Hyndman is probably not even League One level. He nearly cost Atlanta the Open Cup.

Was it his dumb 2nd yellow or the ball he cleared right to Molino waiting at the 12 that almost did it for EH?

I didn't pay much attention, but he was slow to shutdown that hail-mary cross near the end for sure, but given they were a man down for his entire shift, he didn't stand out as poor to me. The ATL backs seemed a bit unsteady after the red.

I don’t think he even touched the ball. Minnesota just ran right through him.

Agree. Once he got in it was like Atlanta was playing with 10 men.

That is one of the stupidest things written in this thread. I didnt see the game, but even if he was horrific in his 20 minutes, it says nothing about his overal quality.

    Lol...

    “I didn’t see the game”

    But

“That is one of the stupidest things written in this thread.”

    Apparently, the stupidest is subjective.

I dont need to watch 20 mins of useless cup game that they dont think is important enough to put on television to know it is ridiculously idiotic statement. I get that you are a reactionary fan, but 20 minutes doesn't make a player.

How many games this season have you watched Emo play?

I’ve watched every game Atlanta United has played this season.

He has some decent games, although unspectacular. And he has some absolutely horrible games, where he has been completely absent and ran over. Last night was just confirmation that Bournemouth realized that he will never be a Premier League player and chances are that he would never be Championship either. He is an okay at best bench option in MLS.

Truthfully, I could see him ending up in USL. He’s too weak, slow, and inconsistent by even MLS standards. Or, at best he could end up as a journeyman, on the level of Harry Shipp and Tommy McNamara.

Hahaha.... your posts are getting stupider and stupider. I just finished watching his play from last night and will come back to that.

I have watched most of his games with Atlanta as I have done since 2014 at Fulham, Bournemouth, Rangers and Hibs. I think the difference is you watch Atlanta and I watch Hyndman.

I havent seen him play a horrible game for Atlanta and last night was a pretty solid shift. He made a lot of smart runs early where he didnt get the ball. They then went down a man and Minnesota had the ball for the rest of the game. His defensive positioning was sound, he broke up at least one play and forced many to go back to their goalkeeper. He was never beaten. He lost a 50/50 lofted header to an athletic target man and allowed a late cross where he didnt force the guy wide because he had another option.

He has already played in the championship. He excelled in the SPL. He is getting rotational minutes for one of the best MLS sides. Yeah, USL or journeyman seems right. It is fcking idiotic. The kid has limitations, but is ridiculously technical on the ball and reads the game extremely well.

If you want to rant about one of your teams players, I'd think it is center mid who was stripped of the ball in their half twice during that period for no reason. It appears he is great at holding of defenders until he isnt.

Maybe Fulham thought they were selling him to League 1 Bournemouth back in the day...

I have to agree. That seems a bit harsh on Emo. That said he just sounds like a fan hoping their team closes out the game and wins silverware.
