The 4th (!) Yank at Hobro

    Louicius Don Deedson
(articles also identify him as Deedson Vixamar)

The American, who is originally from Haiti, was most recently affiliated with Kalonji Soccer Academy in Atlanta Georgia, USA, where he has played for three years. Here he was most recently part of the U18 team that recently became US U18 champions.

I guess this confirms that he's a citizen? There had been some question about this. I'm not certain, but he may have been adopted by an American family, having come to the U.S. from Haiti.

That's the second recent snag for Hobro out of the Atlanta academy, by the way.

This kid is an absolute stud from what I've seen. He didn't stick in the ATL academy for whatever reason but is so much better than Jackson Conway, their current ATL2 striker. I've only seen glimpses of his game but essentially he's athletic, has great movement, with a nose for goal. Has a nice array of finishes and good foot skills to create his own chances.

With our lack of depth at striker for the next U20 cycle he needs a look. I wasn't sure if he was a citizen but apparently that's the case.

If you want to see Deedson in game state, every one of his games at the US Youth Soccer National Championships is one youtube. All the links are here: http://championships.usyouthsoccer.org/live/

The final, which KSA won 7-0, is here:

That was my first thought too. Seems like he had a good idea @bshredder , so much so that another Danish club decided to copy it and beat him to the punch. That's why you can't just have good cards you need to keep them close to the vest.

This is a good entrance into Europe for those who don't trust MLS still to transfer players, who want to be in the shop window, and play in a respectable 1st division against men instead of a youth program.

The truth is that the caliber of player that Gardner is signing is still lower than the caliber of player Hobro is signing. Maybe if Helsingor can manage a couple promotions and make the Superliga they will compete for the same players.

I think there is enough talent in the USA to go around. The challenge is scouting such a big country and correctly identifying who has the quality and mentality to make it in Europe.

Lots of people knew about Deedson; I'm really curious how the connections were made that got him to Hobro. I'm also curious if he passed up on any offers stateside to go there.

When Gardiner enacted that plan it was with the idea of buying a club for cheap and then rising up to the top division.

In his eyes, Helsingor probably has more potential to succeed at the top division level eventually than Hobro. It has a population 4 times as large.

But it's starting out at a disadvantage. Maybe he eventually steals those caliber players and better from Hobro. But right now they're building the rep/pipeline and will hinder this strategy for Helsingor in the interim.

As far as Deedson goes, I'd never heard of him, and I pay attention closer than I probably should.

I don't really think there is a lack of striker options for the next U-20 cycle. Pepi, AOC, and Kelman is a good starting point.

I'm just not blown away by any of those guys. Pepi is the best of them but he will be playing up a cycle. I'd trade all 3 in a heartbeat for Balogun or possibly Miljevic. I'm not necessarily saying Deedson is better but I think it's a weak position that a breakout player could make their own.

Balogun scores too much to fall to us. Not sure Miljesevic is #9 or that he is better than our kids. Deedson is good, the rest of our strikers not bad at all either.

Pepi is a top 5 senior NT prospect at any position (size, mobility, work-rate, skill), imo, and he'll be 18. I wouldn't be shocked if he were already with the seniors at this point even excluding him from u20 WC play. Sargent/Weah are fair analogs from a tools and maturity perspective.

Started & went 87 for the reserves in 2-1 win:
    http://hikfodbold.dk/flot-2-1-sejr-over-aab-i-reserveligaen-n2-2343?id=2343

    Hobro lineup:
    Adrian Kappenberger
Nicholas Gotfredsen - Brandon Onkony - Stefan Kahr (Jutland Series) - Rayshaun (Guest Player)
Anton Søjberg (Guest Player) - Hamse Hussein - Yosef Samuel - Oliver Thychosen
Don Deedson Louicius - Romaric (Guest Player)

    Replacements:
Out: Anton Søjberg - Ind: Mathias Poulsen (Jutland series) (58 min)
Out: Oliver Thychosen - Ind: Bleron Koliqi (U19) (63 min)
Out: Romaric - Ind: Christian Hørby (U19) (79 min) )
Out: Don Deedson Louicius - In: Leorant Thaqi (U19) (87th min.)
Out: Rayshaun - Ind: Magnus Olsson (U19) (87 min.)

With all the Hobro action, there has been rumor of a couple of Yanks still hanging around. "Rayshaun" above might be Rayshaun McGann. "Romaric" could be a Yank, but no easy info.

Here's the original list of available players for the match with only a couple ID'd by first name only:

    6. Nicholas Gotfredsen
    20. Oliver Thychosen
    21. Yosef Samuel
    23. Brandon Onkony
    25. Don Deedson Louicius
    31. Adrian Kappenberger
    Hamse Hussein
    Stefan Kahr (Jutland series )
    Mathias Poulsen (Jutland series )
    Leorant Thaqi (U19)
    Christian Hørby (U19)
    Bleron Koliqi ( U19)
    Magnus Olsson (U19)
    Rayshaun (Guest Player)
    Romaric (Guest Player )
    Anton Søjberg (Guest Player)

This is very possibly Bosson Kablan Romaric, a veteran defender from the Ivory Coast.

Bosson Kablan Romaric is a centre back/defensive midfielder and not a striker, which was the position this mystery "Romaric" was playing for Hobro, so I highly doubt it was him... , the two other guest players were also young talents, which I suspect is also the case with this "Romaric" ... and Rayshaun McGann is a centre/left back which fit the position Rayshaun was playing for the Hobro reserves ...

Stayed on the bench for a 1-1 draw:

Gonna start keeping track of the various names he ends up being called. This one is from ESPN:

    25 Louicius Louicius Deedson

The club listed him as Louicius on the squad list.

    Louicius Don Deedson
    Deedson Vixamar
    Don Deedson Louicius

T'Markt has him as Romaric Pitroipa, of Burkina Faso.

In any case, doesn't appear to be a Yank.

I've seen difficulties like this with many Haitian players' names. It seems common for Haitians to have a first name that looks like a last name and a last name that looks like a first name, which for some reason confuses the people who maintain these online player databases.
