One pass aside, he’s been bad in this game. He’s a $60m signing; he needs to be able to make better decisions and control the ball if he expects to be a starter.
Hes made three to four great passes that freed up players for a shot.. he could very well have about 3 assists at this point if they had shot it on goal better.. maybe we are watching a different match.
Don’t feed the troll. CP has been good and NOT looking to play Hero Ball. Makes him a better player on the team.
That’s a kind of harsh way to describe me. I don’t feel like it’s trolling to say that a guy they laid that much money to should be better than just being involved in link up play.
CP was definitely involved in that goal... he is the one that lost the ball at midfield which opened up the Norwich side to go forward on a counterttack that led to them being out of shape for the reverse counter and ultimately Abraham's goal. Low-key brilliant play by Pulisic #wink
Christian is honestly not good when he just puts his head down and tries to do it all himself. He’s doing what everyone around here has been screaming for him to do- dribble less, link up more. I think that will make him a much better player long-term. And I think Chelsea will be very happy with their purchase if CP is directly involved in setting up two goals a game. And ps- sorry to be harsh. I shouldn’t have done that.
That’s true; he’s also made a couple of really poor decisions in the final third. I guess put it this way; I’m disappointed that he hasn’t grabbed this game and been more impactful. A goal would really do a lot to help reinforce his value as a starter. That’s really poorly articulated but do you get what I mean?
I think my issue is that there’s a difference between not trying to do everything yourself and picking and choosing your spots to be assertive. He’s been more passive than I’d prefer, and when he has decided to be aggressive it’s been the wrong decision. I’d like to see him be a little more assertive in the final third while still making good decisions with the ball. Maybe that comes with familiarity with his teammates.
Nice run and cross from CP- found two players in great position. Unlucky that shot was blocked (or would have been another assist). I think he’s making his teammates better today- he’s a force multiplier.
I agree with that. I think today’s play shows it’s coming. He’s quite young to walk on to a Top 6 (perhaps) squad and just take over.
good shift, just keep putting in those and the goals will come. could have had another assist or two today.
Chelsea settling in for the last few minutes with Pulisic subbed off. Likely this match ends 3-2 Chelsea finally getting the 3 points they covet.
Turnovers way down, created as many opportunities as anyone on the field, lots of smart simple passing. Didn’t finish a couple of OK chances. I disagree about the decision making - I think it’s mostly been great, and the defensive hustle was strong. His best game of the three PL appearances, I’d say.
Throw this game in the Good column for CP. Nothing to brag about for sure. Looked miles better than last week.
I do have to say that there are so many critics of him and some of that BS is derived of people that want him to succeed so bad and some that just want to complain.. In the same match I have seen people whining about Pulisic creating more and the same people have complained that he needs to link up and hold up play more and not create as much with his dribbling... Its like a damned either way kind of thinking.. No matter what he does there will be critics due to the price they paid for him.
Pulisic would be expected to show more against a Norwich. He's been useful but not "impactful". For all those waiting for the star performance, take a chair...
