It was a Cup game against Man U.

We all thought he was Parker
When he blew past his marker
    Walking in a Spector wonderland

I didn’t see his time at Man U but at West Ham after his hip injury he was an ok/good right back and a terrible left back.

We'll miss you Specs. Can never forget that cross for Dempsey goal against Brazil in the Confederations Cup (2009).

I do hope his mom stays active and transfers to another player.

attacking mid against Sunderland and Manchester United in the cup games. He was sincerely fun to watch those games when he played up. Watching the Hammer reactions of "wHy DiD wE AlWaYs StArT HiM aT fUlLbAcK?!" were hilarious.

As I recall he was quite good in the Confederations Cup, playing in a DM/CM type role. As mentioned he had a great assist to Dempsey against Brazil.

I actually remember watching him play for Manchester United. I got all jazzed when he was about to come on. Then watching him play, I thought, "Hmm...what's the big deal?"

In the end, Mr. Spector was no big deal.

Going from Orlando to ATL...... uh-oh! That's going to ruffle some feathers. And he thought Birmingham City - Aston Villa was a big derby :)

The fact he actually played for them is quite a surprise for me. But he had a German passport and was mostly for the reserves if I'm not mistaken. Still, it's a feather in his cap.

He was a reasonably well regarded ManU prospect. No Jovan Kirovski or Gio Rossi, but still had a bit of heat.

He was regarded as a serious prospect at Man U - not in, say, a Nicky Butt way, but definitely as a someone who had potential as a depth player who would ultimately be sold on. He wasn't the same after injury, which is why he was let go

I wish we had actually matches of him playing for United so we could see that.

Well, he was good enough to hand around for several years and break through to the first team and make a handful of appearances during a time when Man U was at one of their strongest peaks. Anyone who has the chops in an environment like that would be a "serious prospect". Props to him for landing on his feet, sounds like a pretty cush job! "Hey, wanna spend a few weeks going around the world find talent?"

I'd have put him ahead of Kirovski and behind Rossi.

When he was a prospect at ManU or overall career?

Jovan was well regarded at ManU - more than Spector, to my memory, but I'm old so who knows.

I've never considered Kirovski a serious contender as a striker. He never made a first team appearance for ManU, although Wikipedia excuses that by saying it was "because of work permit regulations." He left shortly thereafter for the Bundesliga where he had a career similar to that of Conor Casey, i.e., fairly poor in goal scoring.

Of course it is difficult to compare players who play different positions. Suffice it to say that Spector at least had 101 Premier League appearances, including 3 with ManU. Kirovski was rostered with Birmingham City at a time it was trying for promotion to the PL and played in 12 games (2002/03) after promotion. The following year he had 6 appearances before his transfer to the LAGalaxy in early 2004.

Not much to go on, but I'd say Spector had an excellent professional career in Europe, whereas Kirovski's was a lot more marginal.
