What is the point in Bayern signing bench warmers like Cuisance and Perisic? At least Coutinho has the ability to offer something more then the current starting team, if he can find his Liverpool form, but the other two are just squad fillers taking the place of young German talent. Bayern' s recruitment strategy seems a bit desperate and lacking clarity.
Perisic is 100% Kovac and a lot of people say that Cuisance was also Kovac/Hasan. Those 2 seem to be the biggest issue. and why we should continue to expect 0 Academy plans until they stop buying mediocre players or young players from other clubs with pro experience. currently only chances for young German talent is mass injuries and that's it.
I'm sure I read a while back someone from Bayern's management saying their strategy was going to be focused more on youth development rather then spending millions on lots of foreign signings? Seems this plan is out of the window already.
it was mostly Uli and he's seems headed out soon. KHR seems more into a very few young players and that's it, although he also seems like he wants to save money as he believes current transfers are bonkers. Player barely plays and costs like $50+ M. Like Countinho if Bayern buys him, it'll be for $120M or look at Sane's price at $100+M. Kovac doesn't really care about integration he's all about results as he fears for his job. Hasan I don't buy much that he cares since he's always sooo keen on getting more foreign youngsters while at the same time extends with Academy players and talks about how they could be 1st team prospects but his actions as sporting director contradicts what he says. It's like "extend and stay at this club" and then proceeds to be interested in players in similar age group and positions. And he keeps yapping about how Bayern should always have a German core......yet I see 5 Frenchies...... that is always the issue when you got 1 guy really into something and he's headed out.......it ends up being potentially incomplete. always felt Bayern Academy is dumb and pointless and that any German player who wants to play at Bayern breakthrough elsewhere. When a club hasn't promoted anyone in 10 years, why do so many players go there? All that changes the moment they get a coach who integrates for real and real plan for Academy players. There's still no real plan for Academy players.
Hoff benches Szalai/Belfodil while missing Kramaric and loses 1-0 to an early Frankfurt goal. Frankfurt need a new striker and are currently linked with Dutch Dost (ex Wolfsburg player).
DFB Cup Next Round FCN vs FCK Kiel vs Verl Duisburg vs Hoff Saarbrucken vs Koln Darmstadt vs Karlsruher Paderborn vs Bayer Union Berlin vs Freiburg Aue vs Fortuna Bayern vs Bochum Schalke vs AB Dortmund vs Gladbach (THE BIG ONE) Hertha vs Dynamo Wolfsburg vs RB Leipzig (Plastic vs Plastic, LOL) Bremen vs Heidenheim Stuttgart vs HSV Pauli vs Frankfurt
Sabitzer seems to be back to his old self, scoring once and 3 assists as RB Leipzig lead 4-0. always liked Sabitzer although way too many injuries/fitness issues in recent seasons.
honestly I'm not a fan of Frenchies in Germany. I'm fine with our other neighbors the Austria, Swiss, Czech, Denmark, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg being in the league but Frenchies barf. And the French implosion is something very very recent, before that you were lucky if you found 1-2 Frenchies in 1BL.
Why the French in particular? Is it because they are bigger rivals for trophies or did you get cheated on by a French chick? I personally don't mind foreign signings if they improve the quality of the league. The problem in the BL is too many don't.
I also don't like Spain either. And dislike how we are dev players for rivals. don't really rate vast majority of Frenchies in Germany, very overrated lot. Nor like seeing Bayern being pact with Frenchies. although Germany has a rivalry with Italy. I have a soft spot for them. And liked a lot of their players. If I'm honest, I'm not a huge fan of most footballers these days. I recall in 90s/00s there were so many more interesting players in Europe, like a ton. Now those days, I liked a lot of the players even Frenchies and some Spaniards too. These days not really feeling it.CL was much more exciting back in those days too.
THIS been saying it for years, vast majority of 1BL players are nothing special and don't improve the league at all. Add it with low quality of coaches and you get mediocrity. reality is all the best prospects don't want to move to Germany and then you get a lot of others who have user mentality, they will go but plan to leave as soon as possible. even more reason why my focus in Germany is the young players. 1BL was always at it's best when its filled with domestic players. And more fun/interesting to follow their dev.
LOL According to Sport Bild, #Kovac said he would like to sign another defensive midfielder. Then the club signed Cuisance but #Kovac thinks @MichaelCUISANCE is not far enough in his development. When asked if Bayern will sign another defensive midfielder @brazzo said: “Let’s see...“— German Football Daily (@GERFootDaily) August 21, 2019
I agree footballers did seem way easier to like back then, maybe because I was still a kid then helped, but I just think the over commercialisation and ridiculous wages being paid means many players seem out of touch with the general public and harder to like. Just seen Jadon Sancho is going to be earning €11million a year (more then 200k a week) with his new Dortmund contract. That is insane for a 19 year old kid after just 1 good season.
I was also growing up back then but I had such fond memories of that era and all of the players. I think a huge negative in this day is all the focus is Ronaldo vs Messi. Back then, there were tons of players everywhere. or look at Pulisic, never had 1 good season in Germany, got benched last season at Dortmund and gets bought for like $70+M by Chelsea, ridiculous. also think globolization is ruining the game too, clubs seem more and more business mentality and less close to fans. I mean even dfb talked about the need to get closer to the fans again.
so 00 Paulinho who Bayer paid $20M for him is now headed for a loan to Portugal? lol, like I keep saying integration seems to be less and a less of a thing these days. And no loaning a player elsewhere is not integration, the other club is the one dev player. had 1 goal in 21 games for Bayer, mostly as a sub with only 3 XI. His only goal was vs a Cyprus club in EL. saw it coming tbh, way too much focus on their Summer signing in Frenchie 99-Diaby ($15M) in preseason and new season.
LOL Frankfurt lost 1-0 away in EL Qualifier in Leg 1. called it, this Frankfurt team doesn't deserve any Europe. Currently reported to be bringing back Dost to 1BL.
huge bust, lol. Never once thought he should have been signed. Spending $35M on a meh player. Bombed at Bayern got loaned to EPL bombed there and now going to lower league in Ligue 1. 🔴LOSC are thrilled to announce the signing of Portugal international midfielder Renato Sanches from Bayern Munich on a five-year deal ! pic.twitter.com/QQOVoz19Rl— LOSC (@LOSC_EN) August 23, 2019
LOL, Bayern sold Sanches for $20-25M,so they lost $10-15M on him. should have just promoted someone instead of wasting so much money.
4 - Last Saturday, 4 French players have started a game with the same team in the Bundesliga for the first time ever in the competition (Coman, L. Hernandez, Pavard and Tolisso with Bayern München against Schalke 04). FrenchTouch. @FCBayern pic.twitter.com/doi3UhasOH— OptaJean (@OptaJean) August 26, 2019 will we get 5 soon? since Bayern does have 5 Frenchies.....
and good reason why I barfed at Cuisance. Mickaël Cuisance tried to force his move to Bayern so he wanted to deliberately upset his bosses and teammates in Gladbach. He even trained with open shoes, rejected handshakes from his teammates and pretended to be injured when he heard he was in Gladbach squad [SportBild] pic.twitter.com/zm4m9KiZJe— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) August 28, 2019
Leg 1 Frankfurt 2 Germans in XI, 1-0 loss to Frenchie club Leg 2, Frankfurt 4 Germans in XI,3-0 win vs Frenchie club. Frankfurt qualifies to EL GS after eliminating Strasbourg 3-1 on aggregate. Take that Ligue 1!!!!!!! Good for the league coefficient. Although Rebic almost ruined it with his straight red which was only saved with an early 2nd half straight red to a Frenchie player.
I know everyone here is pissed at Frankfurt for the lack Germans in the starting XI, but I'm still glad they secured a place in the Europa League. As for the Champions League group stage draw, boy oh boy, Leverkusen are so fvcked.
