Would call the LIV performance uneven but very promising. He just seems to need a moment to spark his game, which is great! His final 20' or so of the first half were brilliant. His start to both halves was pretty anonymous. Obviously as he matures, he'll have to more consistently assert himself and create chances.

His pace and touch at pace are really stunning though. It's not as if we haven't had athletic Americans before, but rarely are they as in control of each touch as Pulisic. The disallowed goal was some real ball-on-a-string stuff.

Kudos to Pulisic. It will be a rollercoaster year I'm sure, but he already has the respect of top Premier League players and has already suggested he'll be one of Chelsea's top chance creators.

I felt his performance was decent, and had he entered the game earlier (like starting), I think he could have made an impact, though not enough to stop 4 goals. However, there one move he made that blew me away and that was when 5'8"140 lb Christian Pulisic he flattened 6'4" 220 lb. Harry Maguire. I'm not kidding. It was a cross into Man U box from the right side and I don't know who ended up with ball but it did sail close to Maguire just as Pulisic was blasting in from the left side colliding with the very top half of Maguire and sending poor Harry toppling over. I had to watching a few time to make sure it was Christian because it happened so fast and was kind of in the background. Did anybody else happen to see it?

"We compared Morris to LD once... " Give me a break, please. You speak for yourself. How could any semi-soccer-literate fan ever compare (favorably, at least) with LD? That makes no sense whatsoever. Now, if you meant a negative comparison, please excuse my take.

??? Holy necro-bump, why even quote a post from 4 years and 165 pages ago?

Although, I don't disagree that it's a silly assertion. Morris was never compared to LD in terms of skills. Perhaps oblique references compared his inability to play in Europe (Morris stayed home because of his family, LD at least tried and failed in Europe at 18-19)

Wow! If that is true (I can't find the original post), I apologize. I had no idea I was "responding" to something that old. Obviously, it's beating a dead horse.

Thanks. Something new every day. I guess I must have thought I was reading the most recent posts and have no idea why I was on page 1 of 1024. Embarrassing.

He is doing decent. Looked like a bad injury knee/ankle on that ball block but thankfully he is fine.

CP doesn't look out of place at all which is pretty cool when you think about it.

He’s going to need to play a lot better than he did today if he’s going to lock down a starting role at a top 4 club. He was really anonymous with some questionable first touches and giveaways

Thought Pulisic looked poor today. But for the most part: so has the rest of the Chelsea squad. They put in the work but I can only watch Pedro get dispossessed centrally so many times...

Tbh looks exactly like ... a mostly young, uneven squad still finding an understanding of one another. Gonna be up and down all season.

But to Pulisic specifically: neither found him dangerous nor sharp today. He didn't create anything, even if he wasn't the most egregious offender of giving it away.

Yep off in the 71st minute. Very blah display unlike his last game, against a weaker side. Not sure what happened. Found plenty of space at times and then proceeded to do nothing with it.

Poor game. Chelsea midfield deserves a lot of blame but he lost the ball far too often today.

FWIW, Chelsea has looked even more impotent in attack than they did before he went off. Not a great game for him overall but had some good moments. As far as the competition Willian hasn't done anything since coming on, Mount had an outstanding goal but has been dreadful otherwise

Real Madrid is run even worse than I imagined if that's truly what they're thinking. Gotta be BS.

    From page 2.

Nobody in 2015/2016 would had imagined that we would not have qualified to a world cup and that Croatia would have been 1 game away from being world cup champions.
