Complete b.s story. You don`t pay 1/5 of your summer spending for a player you need, and then discard him after him playing two matches - as a sub.
Dude, the story’s original source is Don Balon, they make AS and SPORT look like the gold standard of journalism.
I think Mariano did everything to prove his loyalty to this club. He was ok with being 3rd choice striker behind Benz and Morata. He more or less delivered when played, and he always ran and pushed like it's the champion's league final. Then he goes to Lyon, proves he's got goals in him if put into a solid system. Comes back right away, no questions asked when papa Flo calls. It's just that Benz was one of the rare players who had a decent season and he wasn't injured + no coach really gave Mariano a real chance. And now Zizou brings Jovic, only to loan him out after giving him two halves in the preseason? And Mariano will still be offloaded to Betis even after we only have one striker??? Man, I just feel bad for him if that happens
There is zero chance Mariano stays in Madrid. Benzema and Hazard are stone cold starters under Zidane - we all know what that means. The only question is either Zidane will opt for 3 upfront or two. In case of two, Mariano is toast even more.
I've seen him twice in person this summer and every minute he played screamed shop window. He can't do that over a season.
There is not a single reason to sub him in a game. When we lose , he won't change a thing because he can't score , his passing is mediocre as well and his football IQ is bad . And when we win , we would rather have one of the youngsters going in. I want him away , more than any one else at this club. He is absolute trash.
Brahim back with the squad in training. Has missed the whole preseason and therefore will need to improve his conditioning, but consider him a candidate to start on the RW once he’s 100% fit and ready to make an impact. Zidane likes his game. https://t.co/LsWCuf3uNW pic.twitter.com/AsFeX6yEFM— Lucas Navarrete (@LucasNavarreteM) August 15, 2019 Brahim is back
Brahim........Hazard..........Vinicius ..................Jovic we have speed, dribling, creativity and a finisher
Three of the players you have mentioned will be having enjoyable conservation on the bench. Hazard and Benzema are stone cold starters.
Better than spending 60 mil. on absolutely brutally overrated players. We're one or two players short in midfield, its all a matter if people figure that it's better to buy under our standard or just sit it out to strike the deals we want with the players we want. We're not running the club for the 19/20 season exclusively. It's going to be a hard landing this season, but it might take another bad season for us to really come together with a new project.
Which midfielder can we buy then who is also a realistic target? It’s an honest question, I’m just curious because you keep saying we must not buy overrated players (VDB obviously).
Keep James. The most realistic and sensible thing to do. He comes for free and is better than Isco and Kroos. Then, there were other options. Like not selling Llorente, and bringing Odegaard back. But that is water under the bridge at this point.
Two weeks before end of the transfer window, with the club in a mini crisis already, no matter who we buy, we're going to be slaughtered financially. The club went all in on Pogba and it went wrong. Shit happens.
better slaughtered financially than go to the new season witt those midfielders (especially if James will be out). Cause its ticking bomb again.
It depends on whether you think we would improve enough with the players we could get now to play a good season, or just get whatever is doable out of this squad and try again for Pogba next year since we're going to live and die by that one player.
well thats the problem. zero common sense. Yeh, im for Pogba, but if he wont come, move on. I would be ok if, for example, at leas Ceballos would have stayed, but now.. he and Llorente gone, and wont buy at least one its suicide.
If you take this as a transitional season, we've done ok. If you see this as a "revolution" and believe all the "casting" stuff that was talked about with Zidane's return, we've done pretty badly.
Why are you complaining? Yoi never rared Ceballos or Llorente so them leaving shouldn't bother you. You feel Kroos and Bale atr untouchable and they are still here underperforming as part of our highest earners. All this talk about revolution but you never truly wanted that now did you? You got the "revolution" you wanted last summer when we got rid of Cristiano and gave your boy Bale the keys.
