FC Edmonton takes the lead for the first time of the season setting the table for next friday "Battle of Alberta"

Cavalry started a 16 years old this weekend.

Pepple is currently with Canada’s Men’s U-17 National Team and previously played with the Calgary Foothills FC USL2 team this past spring.

“Aribim is an exciting young attacking player (16yo) that the Canadian Premier League has been designed for. His development has accelerated having had a great season with Calgary Foothills USL2 team where he scored 5 goals in the last 5 games of the season. He will add pace, power and youthful energy to our team”

    – Tommy Wheeldon Jr. (Head Coach & General Manager, Cavalry FC) on signing Aribim Pepple.

Duran Lee is the third Vaughan Azzurri (League 1 Ontario) that HFX have acquired this season starting the year with Arnone and Skublak. Lee played for Sigma last year and was with the TFC Academy earlier than that.

Due to our National team lack of depth at defense, these are my predictions on which CPL player deserves to get a look by John Herdman

    GK
    Nathan Ingham, York9
    Marco Carducci, Cavalry
    Christian Oxner, Halifax Wanderers

    LB
    Ndzemdzela "Zoom" Langwa, Halifax Wanderers
    Diyaeddine Abzi, York9

    CB
    Dominic Zator, Cavalry
    Luca Gasparatto, York9
    Amer Didic, FC Edmonton

    RB
    No one

    Midfield
Only Tristan Borges should be on the radar for the senior team as of now.

    Forwards
    No one yet

It makes sense. Foreign players who are brought in are going to be better than average, otherwise there's no point in signing them in the first place.

This initiative will have a drastic effect on our U teams. That's valuable pro minutes tha didn't exist for those young players.

Pacific FC alone clocks for around 9000 minutes

Looks like it's been a while since I posted results.

The game that has everyone talking is the "ruthlessness" of Cavalry and the total meltdown of Valour at home...losing the game 8-0
Valour defense is an absolute joke...really.

Here's the fall standings. It's Cavalry and Forge vs. The rest. I watch FC Edmonton play Halifax yesterday and I'm not buying in totally... they aren't on those 2 teams level. Screenshot_20190903-102442_FotMob.jpg

Interesting fact about CPL is that young Canadians are on the top in regards to goal being scored.

20 years old Terran "Hulk" Campbell from Pacific FC, former Vancouver Whitecaps academy is on top at the moment. He's followed by 21 years old Easton (giant 6 foot 6) Ongaro follows from an Edmonton academy.

The Brazilian Minatel is 3rd overall.

This speaks to the league going in the right direction.

Actually, Vancouver traded him to Inter Miami and was loaned to Pacific

    Cavalry wins the Wildrose Cup

    Things we've learned
    • Valour is in disarray
    • Pacific "High" patience with their youth player is paying off
    • Forge and Cavalry vs. the rest

What's striking to me is that only two teams have a positive goal differential.

This might be why...Cavalry and Forge pretty much thrashed the rest of the league [IMG]
