You should be so lucky to have me as your jackbooted BigSoccer moderator. But having moderated the DC United and FIFA boards for many years, and also having moderated more than one World Cup, I think I've had enough BigSoccer moderating for a lifetime.

... The "It Is Unsafe To Eat Raw Toast" Update ...

    Notes

When this thread opened, CHI was newly toasted, if only lightly. But toast is toast, light or dark. This weekend, the results were very favorable to CHI. First, they won. Second, they won against MTL, which is a team just ahead of them on the table. So this was a proverbial "6 point" game. Third, TFC drew with ORL. TFC and ORL are also teams that CHI is chasing in the playoff race. With the draw, that game gave ORL and TFC 1 PT each, but crucially for CHI also took 4 PTS entirely off the table. Combine all these results together, and you'll see that CHI's CD# dropped below 2.00 PPG. And so did their AD#.

However, according to the laws of toast, CHI remains toast. Once toasted you're toast until you raise yourself to a playoff position by PPG. But if you're hoping for Lazarakia, and the yet unseen miracle of a toasted team making the playoffs, then this weekend's results should have inspired your hopes. Of course, the Toast Thread's primary reason for existence is to squash your hopes. So, let's see what happens next week when CHI (with its 0.50 PPG away record) travels to face POR (with its 2.00 PPG home record). Oh, and CHI also host PHI next week.

Meanwhile, in the WC, having lost to PHI, HOU is now toast. And having lost to RSL, SKC are also newly toasted. While celebrating this win, RSL fired their coach. Of course, for years DCU fans have been telling me he's a wanker. So perhaps he got what he deserved.

    Quick Hits

I think we need to talk about LAX's mind-boggling +40 GD.

VAN and CLB have been eliminated from SS contention. Do not comfort the irrationally grief stricken Crewligans.

SEA has a stellar 2.36 PPG record at home, and a miserable 0.82 PPG record away. That's a whopping 1.54 PPG difference.

7 teams are now toast. Perhaps I did start this thread a little late. Not that I'm to blame for the thread's tardiness. Not in the slightest.

He had been suspended from all activity with the team for two weeks, which included 3 games, in which RSL took 7pts (2 away games too!). Maybe Petke had things set up well before he left, or maybe he has been trying too hard to shove a square peg through a round hole and assistant coach Freddy Juarez is a better tactician.

Plus the complete lack of professionalism and respect.

That's how I feel. I was Business & Media moderator during the Oliver Tse period and USMNT N&A in the early aughts.

I imagine it's something how people like George Bush and Barack Obama feel. "Yeah, it's really ********ed up now, and I could really help, but I already gave."

I understand your point, but this topic has a tradition of that, and you don't have to criticize all of BigSoccer because of it. I wish this topic had fewer posts that didn't contribute anything.

They're undefeated at home, with GDs of +22 at home and +18 away, albeit with 2 more away games. I compared their away GD per game to 2018-2019 champions. Their away GD per game is slightly worse than Man City's +27, and better than Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain. Doing home and away GDs separately and adding them, they're on pace for +58, which would exceed Bayern Munich's +56 from the same amount of games. They're GD per game away is better than every club's GD per game at home except for themselves, ATL, and POR.

It's gonna be hilarious watching people blow a gasket when they get bounced in the Western Conference Semifinal.

West is crazy. 7 teams within 5 points of each other. 6 teams within 0.10 PPG of each other. That's going to be volatile through these final months.
