Yeah Boca and River are bigger worldwide but they aren't as big as they think they are. They aren't as big as Tigres or other teams are in Mexico. They act as if people here are going to see Boca and drool over them or like people follow them or something and that they would bend over because Boca. I read some comments in the fight about how they talk about Boca vs River being the biggest derby in the world. Yeah passion wise people know about it being the most intense but they can't compare to Barca vs Real. It's insane. Yeah but even then people overstimate the power of libertadores. I don't think it's close to European football like it once were. Independiente is the biggest libertadores winning team and I wouldn't be surprised at all if an normal european fan would know that team even exists.
Big how? Tigres has a better lineup today.. But they've not had a bigger impact than Boca has on the world football stage. Realistically Tigres in the last decade has barely cracked the big 4 in Mexico. Today its America by a lot Chivas by history Rayados Tigers in spending power Cruz Azul and Pumas are not on their level and are old hat.
boca beating a pretty good Madrid team is still fresh on my mind but it's hard to believe that was almost two decades ago..
Ah!!!! This is where your comments stems from.. You have the whole clip so i can lol?? Lmao Boca want Giganc on loan..
In Mexico and yeah I stand by it. The fanfare Tigres has in Mexico is bigger than Boca. They act like they are an euro team and people outside Argentina are all talking about Boca and River and watching their broke ass league. Yeah Boca is bigger in worlwide terms but they are not as big as they think they are. Boca and River is not the biggest club game in the world. People in Mexico don't give a shit about Boca and River to their point to think that they are going to get the Euro treatment like Mexican players get when they get an interest to go to Europe and the clubs makes it possible for them to go like with Chicharito or Lainez. Everybody in Mexico knows who Gignac is and I wouldn't be surprised if 30% in Mexico still thinks Riquelme plays with Boca.
Holy sh!t glad no people were in the stadium.
Javier Aguirre: “In Europe we even see @MLS, and not @LigaBBVAMX. You know where they saw Mexican coaches? In @Libertadores and @CopaAmerica and we don’t play there anymore. no estamos ahí, so now Mexican coaches are only seen during World Cups.”— Juan Arango (@JuanG_Arango) August 9, 2019
Evaluating teams by history is disingenuous in the modern day when some rich ass Arab investors can take a shit team like Manchester City and make it huge. Boca and River are nothing. If they were playing each other I’d rather watch an MLS game because at least the network production is crisp. Every time an Argie league match comes on it looks like a 10 year old rerun.

Argies are cringe as ******** with their domestic fútbol and take it way too seriously, but Titeres got creamed by a beat up River team when it mattered the most. Until the league wins something that matters, it will never get any respect. Losing to African and Asian teams in the CWC doesn't help either.
If there was one positive outcome from the whole debacle that was last year's Libertadores Final, those were the first watchable Boca/River games in ages.
Yeah that CWC might be a tip for others besides Mexico. Remember that River Plate team that won the "match of the century" and the "biggest game in their history" couldn't get past freaking Al Ain and missed out the final against Real Madrid. But remember that Boca is bigger than Atletico Madrid.
