Jens was an unused sub yesterday as Midtjylland started the 2019/2020 Danish Superliga season. During 2018/2019 he made 2 appearances (1 start) in the league playing 83 minutes and also had 1 start in the Danish Cup going 45 minutes.

Came on in the 40th minute (presumably for injury), and picked up a yellow in the 89th minute. 2-1 win for Midtjylland.

FCM managed a 1-0 win and got 9 points after their first 3 games this season, so it's looking good https://www.bold.dk/fodbold/danmark/superligaen/ Highlights
AGF Aarhus v FC Midtjylland 0-1 0-1: Evander (pen. 88) Attendance: 11,739 Lineup 3-5-2 flat : Jesper Hansen - Alexander Scholz, Erik Sviathcenko, Rasmus Nicolaisen - Jens-Lys Cajuste, Evander Ferreira, Ayo Simon Okosun (60: Tim Sparv), Frank Onyeka (78: Mikael Andersson), Joel Andersson - Gustav Wikheim, Jose Francisco Dos Santos Junior (66: Sory Kaba). An only 19-yo defensive midfielder starting and playing the full 90 minutes for one of the top two teams in Denmark is quite impressive ... this will surely be noticed in Sweden by the the Swedish NT coach ..
As you can see by clicking the map below, FC Midtjylland (mid-Jutland) is obviously located in the centre of Jutland, in the city of Herning, only around 58 miles (94 kilometers) from the 2nd largest city in Denmark, Aarhus, and so the games between FCM and AGF are the top clash of Jutland, which is also why FCM were taking a cautious approach in this away match, playing more defensively than usual (42% possession), so perhaps this is why they were fielding an extra defensive midfielder like Jens-Lys Cajuste, but hopefully he will also be playing from start in their other games, especially when they are playing away from home. Btw, you will also notice by looking at the map, that there are several of the smaller Superliga clubs near by, like newly promoted Silkeborg, located right between Herning and Aarhus, not to forget Randers (around 37 miles from Aarhus), and Hobro (around 15 miles from Randers) ... not to forget Horsens south of Aarhus. In fact, it's not unusual that especially foreign players actually live in Aarhus while playing for the other clubs in Jutland ...
Btw, are there any news about Bill Hamid in the USA ? ... he is to return to FCM 5 month from now and FCM have done nothing so far to find an actual replacement. Jesper Hansen is still 1st keeper at FCM, but has now turned 34 ... and obviously they were hoping to find his replacement when they signed Hamid ... after Hamid was send on loan, they did sign Mikkel Andersen from Lyngby but only to be their 2nd keeper and Andersen himself was replaced by their present 1st keeper back in 2017 when he was shipped to Lyngby, so Andersens return to FCM is obviously not suppose to be a long-term solution, he has also turned 31 by the time Hamid is to return.
Cajuste started and went 76 minutes at right back in a 1-0 home win yesterday. Cajuste has a goal lled back for offsides at 0:05 and surrenders a penalty at 0:39. Midtjylland host Rangers in the first leg of their Europa League third qualifying round tie with Rangers on Thursday.

Midtjylland lost the home leg 4-2. On the second Rangers goal (0:48) Cajuste starts out with a relatively close starting position to the eventually goal scorer Joe Aribo (though Aribo's looks to be in a better position) and ends up not being able to keep up on the long run back on the counter.
I hate to be murky, so I won't be. I had a very nice profile of Midtjylland midfielder Jens Cajuste who has a very interesting story. Born in Sweden, grew up in China, dad became an American citizen. Brother played basketball for Syracuse. 1/2 https://t.co/gLZu2VQP6B— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) August 9, 2019 1159934963715858432 is not a valid tweet id He was identified by the YNTs but this matter was looked into. Cajuste is a VERY good player who would become #USMNT eligible if he can play for one of the U.S.-based MLS teams for just a couple of seasons.— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) August 9, 2019
So which MLS team needs to bring him in for two seasons so he can play for the USMNT? GO! EDIT: obviously must be a US-based MLS team
Totally baseless speculation, but this sounds like where Peter Vermes & SKC would step to the plate. But I agree with @DirectK - Here is your Tyler Adams replacement
I'm afraid that wont happen now that FCM have signed him ... I suspect they would demand at least $5 million for him.
Plus he's young enough that he'll be prime age for a sale to RB Leipzig by the time the two years is up. Transfermarkt says he's worth 100,000 euros... In conclusion, I think the only rational course of action is to continue talking about this incessantly until it becomes An Actual Thing ETA: Of course I'm kidding, everyone knows RBNY doesn't sign players. Sigh.
