Welcome to the Post-Draft, Pre-Season Squad Adjustment thread for the Sand League 2019-20. Acquisitions will be recognized by the first manager to make a legal post for the player. Here's an example of how the posts should be: Aviators: OUT: Pickford WHU GKP 5.5 IN: Krul NOR GKP 4.5 If you make a two or more player announcement, all of the transactions must be legal or the entire post is voided. If someone else beats you to one of the players you tried to add, your entire post is voided. You still have your players you intended to release. Here's the sequence for posting and then making the transfers in the FPL site: 1. Post here your planned transactions. 2. Refresh the page and look to see if your post was legal and you were the first Sand manager to make a post for all the players you requested. 3. Wait, say 30 minutes, to allow another sharp Sand manager to notice your post was illegal because one of the players you tried to acquire was already on another team. If a discrepancy was noted, you still own the players you intended to release. 4. Go ahead and make the transfers in your FPL My Team. During this Post-Draft, Pre-Season squad adjustment period, you won't have to forfeit points for excess transfers. During the season, unless you use your wildcard, transfers of more than one player in a week incur a 4 point penalty. You can make no transfers for one week, and then have two free transfers the following week. 5. During the season, if it's determined you made an illegal transfer before the gameweek started, you must reverse the move(s) incurring any excess transfer fee costs. If it's found out after the gameweek started, then any points earned by player(s), who were part of an illegal transfer post, will be manually deducted from your total and gameweek score. You are still required to reverse the illegal transfer and incur any penalties associated with that as well. 6. To help us avoid incurring these draconian penalties, most of us agree to use a shared Google Docs thread that we update every time we make a transfer so it shows our correct roster. Other managers can review that spreadsheet to confirm that no other manager has that player before they make the transfer post in the In-Season Sand League 2019-20 Transaction Thread. That said, sometimes managers forget to post their roster moves in the shared drive. This does not relieve you from ensuring that the player is indeed a free agent. We also scan the Transaction Thread to see if anyone else has acquired or released the player we are contemplating adding to our squad. 7. We are not allowed to post player acquisitions until the player is in the FPL database. I'm not sure when they update the database each day or night, but if you've seen a high profile acquisition announced, then it behooves you to monitor the FPL database to pounce as soon as the player has been added. Hint: A trick here is to "Watch" the transfer threads for the other All Rocks Leagues (Small Rocks and Very Small Rocks). Often, you might see someone in another league who had better monitoring sources, perhaps FantasyFootballScout or something, and you can quickly double check that the player is in the FPL database and be the first in Sand League to make a legal post for that player. You might also want to do a test post in this thread to check how close your computer time clock is to the BigSoccer time clock. Prepare a post to this thread and hit submit right when you see the minute hand move to an hour mark, and note if there is any delays in the date/time stamp on bigsoccer. This may help you avoid posting too early, according to bigsoccer, and not getting Pepe or whoever is sought by multiple managers.
I assume it goes without saying, but another critical rule that applies to this particular thread is that you cannot under any circumstances use the edit function after submitting a post. First in order with a legal trade gets the player, and order is determined by post order. If a post is edited, chaos follows. Or something like that. PS - now checking my phone for the time stamp....

Might take you up on that, Pépé has said on the Arsenal website that he looks forward to playing with Lacazette and Ozil (with those two players in particular). Since those are the two Arsenal players on my fantasy roster, then a trade may need to happen...

I've added some columns to the Transfers spreadsheet. I made separate columns for the Player OUT's Team, Pos, and Salary. That way it will be easier to search which team the player was released from. Just putting down the name of the player OUT is not enough.
I also added a worksheet of the FPL Player Database as a copy of my FPL Player tracking sheet. This database is current as of 8/7 at 3:30 PM EDT. Note that I've added all the latest injury information on the players that are highlighted next to the players' names in the player listing by team when doing Transfers. I've also included rows below each team for rumors and announcements of players that are not yet reflected in the team player listing. So of these will end up being junior squad members and may never appear in the senior squad listings. Once a player is added, I move him up and highlight the player in light blue. All the highlighted light blue players are ones that got added after we locked down our player list for our draft. During the season, my color highlights will be for adds/subtracts. I'll end up moving players transferred out of the league to the bottom of the spreadsheet. You'll also note I had columns for last season's bonuses earned as that was one of the criteria I looked for. I also included the prioritize listing from FantasyFootballScout as to the Penalty Takers, Direct Free Kick Takers, and the Indirect Free Kick and Corner Kick Takers. I also included some info on the new players in comments to the right under Team From, Fee, and then general comments on age, pedigree and perhaps their goal scoring prowess last year or the last two years. I don't have time to also update the individual position spreadsheets that bleech has provided. I just keep all the transactions on this page. I usually upload my latest spreadsheet about 24 hours before the deadline for that week's GW. CAUTION - USE THIS SPREADSHEET AT YOUR OWN RISK. I think it will be helpful, but I wash my hands of any responsibilities if you make an illegal transaction for a move that I missed or that occurred after I did my weekly update. There are lots of players who have been announced as leaving the Premier League. I have these players highlighted in light purple. I expect that I will be moving them to bottom of this spreadsheet after GW 1 when FPL should clean up and romove these players.
I deleted them before, and didnt add them initially on purpose. Personally, I think the removed player's name is enough and that we are getting into overkill on the rest of this. If I drop midfielder 4 or if you swap out defender 3, we'll generally know who that is by name. That's my vote.
The sheet is interesting, but I dont think there is any chance that we keep something like this up to date. If it's your own personal project and we get the benefit of seeing it, then I guess that's cool, but as I said above, I'd vote to keep any obligatory updating more streamlined and to focus on the key things that will allow this to work efficiently. PS - I didnt add the individual position sheets. That was someone else. PS2 - I'm not sure that players who transfer out get removed. Some of them have probably already been put on an already dormant team. I think they get tagged as being transferred but stick around in the system...
Last, i recognize that I contributed to the discussion, we should move all of this dialogue to the banter thread. This thread should be solely for transfers.
Thought this thread was just Pre-season (going by the title ... Are we getting a thread for the season ahead ? By the way I add the position tabs , to save time trawling in & out of FPL to the spreadsheet to see who's available. ... I'll do best to keep them up to date and will adjust asAP after transfers are posted.
