    Preview

Sacramento Republic FC (edited from SRFC and USL website)
Sacramento Republic FC kept themselves in the playoff race after picking up a point in a 0-0 draw on the road to Orange County SC on Saturday night.

Simon Elliott’s men outshot the home side 13 to 6 across 90 minutes where Republic FC had the better of the chances to walk away with the win. The draw leaves Republic FC eleventh in the Western Conference standings—just below the "Mendoza Line" —with 27 points from 20 games played.

Sacramento has struggled to score of late, managing only three goals in the last six games since their 6-0 trouncing of Tulsa on June 22nd. Republic FC's power rankings dropped eight slots this week to #25.

San Antonio FC (edited from SAFC and USL websites)
San Antonio FC extended their unbeaten streak to five league matches, and their home unbeaten streak to nine matches with a 3-1 win over the Real Monarchs last Saturday.

In three games with SAFC since joining on loan, forward Frank Lopez has scored three goals, added an assist, and recorded five key passes. Lopez has now taken his season goal tally to nine which leads the club.

Goalkeeper Jonathan Viscosi entered Saturday's game in the 43rd minute after an injury to teammate Matthew Cardone and would go on to make four saves. Cardone made two saves prior to exiting, giving SAFC at least six saves for the third time this season.

SAFC has now conceded just two goals in their last four league matches. San Antonio rose in the power rankings this week to 12th.

Offense was impressive first half. I still get the heebie-geebies about our defense, though.

Why the H is Villareal still in the game in the 70th minute. Dude almost fell over trying to stand up after knocking heads. 3 subs left, Saari on the bench - no excuse.

Too bad. I was looking forward to seeing how badly things fell apart in the second half.

I got home and watched the 1st half of the replay. Impressive performance. I didn't bother with the second half for the exact reason that @fortunesfool223 mentions above.
