Arriola feels like he has been around forever, so it's really easy to forget that he's only 24. He has at least Qatar in his future, and a good shot at 2026 if he keeps developing and stays healthy.

That's not fitting with "MLS sucks" narrative. Sorry bro, but Imma need you to rewrite this before you leave today.

PSG didn’t have real interest. Some fringe guy fooled Acosta’s people.

I like Arriola, but he can't cross at full stretch. Yes I know he had a nice cross from a stop a few club games ago.

It's skills he learned in Mexico. He just seems better cause of Rooney and Acosta.

    How's that?

p.s. Acosta also learned everything he knows in Argentina. He looks better cause of Rooney and Arriola

Allegedly an “intermediary” lead DC to believe that PSG was ready to offer 10-11m euros. It gets fuzzy after that but they ended up offering 5-6 and ended up pulling the offer once DC was ready to accept.

Why? He is a fairly experienced and quality player.

Are we seeing the first of the Tyler Adams effect? Are Euro clubs ready to forget the badmouthing MLS got a few years back?

I can see with Paul what others say about Puli: could he finish, he'd be a very good player. Even as is, I could see him helping several clubs in the Netherlands or the bottom of the Bundesliga.

But the rumor is very iffy. No names, no sources. It's wise to wait for more info.

According to a good number of notable US soccer reporters, it appears Swansea are trying to get Arriola on loan this winter as well. Here's Brian Sciaretta's summary:

    http://www.americansoccernow.com/ar...mnt-to-face-t-amp-t-a-look-at-transfer-rumors

In a Wednesday bit of news, Paul Arriola is linked with a potential move to Swansea City where he might join Jordan Morris. After successfully recovering from ACL surgery, the California native set to resume his career in full swing in 2021. But that might lead him to the English Championship. It should be noted that a move for Arriola is not as far along as the move for Morris. Doug McIntyre of Yahoo Sports was the first with the news but ASN can confirm McIntryre’s report.

I imagine this definitely means that Swansea view Jordan Morris as a center forward. Looking at their line-up, they’re desperate for a center forward, so Morris should feel confident about being a key player.

Paul Arriola... that’s interesting. My first reaction is Paul Arriola strikes me as player who would struggle in the Premiership but would be excellent in the Championship. But hey, he might be a ‘better than you imagine’ player in the Premiership too - although not a ‘sexy as you want him to be.’ These teams battling relegation need players who can defend, and that - Paul Arriola is a master of. His work rate, pace, and willingness to play defense is elite level. If that’s what he’s asked to do, the club should be very happy with him. But if he’s asked to be offensive contributor, banging in tons of goals and assists, the club is going to be very disappointed. That said, if Swansea stick to a 352, I guess that puts him in direct competition with Roberts. From what I’ve seen, that’s a battle that he could win. But it’s not going to be given to him.

It's been a while since we've had an attacking player in the Championship, at least coming in from MLS. I honestly can't remember any apart from maybe Holden when Bolton got relegated and Brek Shea for his cup of coffee over there. Will be really interesting to see how they fare. Hopefully they surprise people

Are these short David Beckham type loans? 1-2 months?

It is possible there will be an option to buy if the team goes up.

Beckham had six month loans, hence the controversy for missing MLS matches. Notable two month loans included Donovan, Henry, and Keane.

They kind of depend on when the MLS season starts, which is still up in the air now.

No, everyone knows that an American formation requires clubs to switch to a 3-6-1.

We really lit up the world with that formation at France ‘98.

I though the american formation was the Christmas tree (4-3-2-1)

I'm especially interested because I fully believe both leagues have gotten much better. That new EPL deal just made the top 3-6 teams in the Championship that much better.
