Puli must be one of the most expensive benchers ever sold. From being used sparingly by BvB to becoming the nucleus of Chelski attack is a big one. He succeeds in the EPL, it becomes a solid argument for those who say the BuLi is not that far behind.
Oh goodness, for the last time, he was, at no point, a “bencher.” He had injuries over half the year. When he was healthy he started more often than not. He started 24 and subbed on 15. That is not a bencher. Even with the injuries he had his best season to date last campaign.
Oh for crying out loud, in a season with over 3,000' to play, playing under 1,000' is being a bencher, whether injured or not. Also, missing 10 games due to injury is very common for a player. Nothing wrong with being a bencher, specially due to circumstances out of your control. But he is indeed a possible record holder in what respects paying for a guy who played under 1/3rd of all the available minutes in his season.
Another way to look at it: Of the 34 matches he was available for, across all competitions, he was an unused sub for four.
This is far from being accurate. He sat on the bench not because he lacks talents, but because he was injured and his foolish coach prefers a lesser quality in Larsen. And how many teams in the world has a young and "on fire" Sancho?
By your logic, it's insane that Barca wanted to trade 2 world class players +90M for a bencher in Neymar.
Pulisic, Luiz and Lampard were at a Nike event today. Looks like Pulisic was wearing a bandage on his leg.
IMHO, he should not be a "bencher" simply because he should not be hired. He is a stain on the game regardless of his skills.
If Lampard persists with a 4-2-3-1 it could suit Pulisic more than any of Chelsea's other wide players. Based on the evidence of last season, it's miles behind.
press stories indicate Willian will assume Hazard's # 10 jersey and if so that opens up Willian's #22 for Pulisic. That would be good all around. CP does not need that added pressure of wearing the #10.
You may be right. Willian seems to confirm he'll wear Hazard's old No.10 shirt at Chelsea. Would make sense for Christian Pulisic to take Willian's old No.22 shirt. The #USMNT star wore 22 at Dortmund, but I understand Pulisic is keen to wear the number 10 jersey at #CFC. Willian a veteran though.— Joe Prince-Wright (@JPW_NBCSports) July 22, 2019
I have his Dortmund jersey from 2015/2016. So, that's pretty good "I was there back when man" street cred.
Pssshhhh. I don’t even have a jersey which is clearly from his pre-contract days. You guys with jerseys are so late to the hipster game it makes me feel sorry for you. I am just going to single gear bike ride to the local community garden and drink some Yerba mate with some homeless people.
