But that's not what the scoresheet shows. I'm guessing itll be yellow for the initial, and red for violent conduct
The way Penso got bent out of shape... brings back memories of his sh*tshow of a performance at BBVA not too long ago. You know... where fans tossed things at him out of frustration with his performance while he was trying to check the VAR monitor on the north side? Wonder how long he's been harboring that memory? His reaction to Elis was a little bit animated. As a ref... look at the player, yank the card, business handled. That was quite entertaining. Just a thought...
If it's two yellows, I think Elis gets an automatic extra game of suspension. Right now, he likely will get an extra from the DisCo but could just be the one. So...not really?
@ElNaranja wins it! He called 5-0 ATL what a sorry performance by the Dynamo tonite... I bet there won't be a WC podcast next week.
Yep, maybe this is what we need though. It's always coldest before dawn and all that. Houston is needed for MLS, surely they can put some pressure on the team.
this team is a pile of shit..Lets be honest they weren't winning or drawing with a full of 11 my season ticket girl better stop calling me!
Again, perhaps you are correct, but does it really matter? Does he sit longer for 2 yellows or one red?
I think, not certain, that Y+R is bigger fine or more disciplinary points or whatever they do. More than Y+Y=R. But I’m not sure it is that important ... but I just think of it as a straight R = 2Y, so this is like 3 Yellows. Unless extended still out for only 1 more game. I think what really got him in trouble was kicking the ball away towards the AR. Penso feels (any Ref would) he has to stick up for the AR. Then the bump puts him over the edge. I still contend that Penso should have just given Elis a stern talking to and warning (for the bump) rather than the straight red. Calling that violent conduct is ludicrous. But it is all Elis’ fault. BTW — this why good referees back away from players rather than charge in with their chest out.
So now apart from MLS having worthless Refs, now they have included Snowflakes as well. How the hell is kicking the ball away in the sixth minute a f*cking yellow, then Elis tells him something while both are moving and happens to brush him and not in an aggressive way and Mr. P*ssy freaks out. What happen tonight happens about 30 times per game in any league over and over and yet you kick a player out in the sixth minute, the 6th minute, not the 30th, not 60th. At those higher minute maybe player has been just messing around and Ref gets tired, but nah it took 6 minutes. He killed the game that minute. I don’t think Elis did anything wrong and if he did the Ref should have kicked out the three players that approached him after he showed the red because they basically did what Elis did.
30 times a game? What games have you been watching? Players kick the ball at the AR who flagged the foul all the time? Don't think so, zero qualms with the yellow there. The chest bump was not as outrageous but we'll within his rights to send Elis off.
My issue with Elis Red Card: WHO THE ******** IS FRUSTRATED 6 MINS INTO A GAME!!!! It doesn't matter that a goal was missed, you were getting chances. To me both the kicking the ball away and bumping the ref was intentional and seemed like he is just ready to leave. With a two game suspension, he can focus on leaving. If he does, we are royally ********ed, more than we already are. He is responsible for 19 of the 29 goals we have scored.....19!!!!!
Interesting that the discussion is about the red card rather than the line up. IMO this game was lost before the whistle blew with or without Elis. Without getting into the specific weaknesses of specific players. Wilmer is managing minutes as if he’s coaching Juventus chasing multiple championships. Yes the Dynamo have a few games within a week. But the team barely has a Professional Quality First XI. Play them until their legs fall off or else we lose. Kevin Garcia has no business being on the field at any time. Hairston is useless. And at least for last night Tyler Deric was a train wreck.
As If I could just ask him one question it would be why he continues to play Garcia, we get scored on by his mark every game. I just don't get it. Also I agree with you on Hairston, guy has shown nothing but last night with a ball at his feet that a no legged man could have put in was the last straw for me.
Listening on XM to the Atlanta announcers before the game they flat said they were “shocked at the Dynamo lineup when they saw it” with no Quioto and Manotas and some sort of 4-3-2-1 formation
