I am not super happy with losing Diallo. Last season we were really thin in the back. I liked Diallo's aggressive passing at times. I think if the back line stays healthy we won't miss him, but that one injury will make us regret losing him.

I guess this rules out the Toprak transfer unless we want to depend on DAZ, Balerdi, and Weigl as back-up CBs

Very happy with the business this season.

Good to see the club recoup so much money on Diallo, who is our 5th best option at CB.

It's a shame Toprak has decided to stay, but if we can get rid of Schurrle, Kagawa and Philipp it would be an excellent season.

The worry is the midfield still. Dahoud could have shown his determination to make it this season, by cutting his summer short and making the tour, but it appears he did hit. Correct me if I am wrong. This in addition to his poor performances in the U21 championships has made me worry if he can fulfil his potential.

It's time for Weigl to step up as well.

Was Dahoud actually bad in the U21 Euro? I didn't watch, but he was on the tournament best XI. Asking him to join the trip only 2 weeks after the final is too much, and the team will be back in Germany this weekend anyway.

Hard to pick a clear winner between Diallo and Weigl.

Toprak is a sordid loser. He wants to sit out his contract even though he might never see the pitch this season.

Schurrle was spotted at Frankfurt training ground. I feel bad for them but we need this lout off our wage bill.

The amount of dead weight this club has is just mind numbing. There's Kagawa and Rode. Toljan hasn't even been sold. JBL shows no signs of improvement. Phillips deal with VfL fell through because of that Jesus freak Brekalo.

Bad is too strong a word, but not good enough. He was the oldest player at the tournament and needed to take control of matches, which he did not do. ASKING him to join the trip 2 weeks after the final is too much. I expect him to make the sacrifice. He has stiff competition to make the Dortmund first 11 and he needs to be at preseason as soon as possible.

Pulisic has cut his holiday short to be ready for Chelsea.

JBL is 20 and is improving. He probably will never be a great player, but he made progress last season. Hopefully more of the deadwood would go.

I would take Weigl over Diallo at CB, but we really should be fine. We have Akanji, Hummels, Zagadou, Balerdi and Weigl, before we even get to Toprak. If we rotate and still have an injury crisis then that's just bad luck.

Happy with the Diallo deal, he was not anything special at all. With Hummels, Akanji, DAZ, Ballerdi and Weigl we have enough depth at the CB position. I do not even want to put Toprak in the list because I still hope he is sold to whoever wants him. Also looking forward to Kagawa, Schurrle, Rode and Phillip leaving. The club has so far made steps in the right direction with deadwood, hope they continue.

Rode's full transfer to Eintracht is official. Phillip, Kagawa, and Schürrle are not with the team in Bad Ragaz.

Great news, hopefully we can clear all three from the wage budget and in an ideal world, make a little back.

Rumors that both Schürrle and Philipp could find new clubs in Russia.
For Schürrle, it would be a loan with an 8 million buy option. I give him the nice goal againt Madrid but he must be one of our worst transfers ever.

He needs to get off to a good start. I hope he does well. The benefit he will have is Premier League defenses and players are not that smart. No matter how good the coach, most players still refuse to pay attention to the tactics and match preparation. It will take Premier League defenders an entire season to realise just how quick he is, which means he should kill teams on the counter.

Sarri leaving has worked well for him, because he can thrive in a counter attacking, high pressing team.

Kagawa rumored to Celta Vigo per BVB news.
Phillip agent came out and said that Dynamo is not an option and they are still looking. Apparently Eintracht are out as their striker situation is fine with their guy staying put. Wolfsburg is pretty much the same story as they have withdrawn interest.

We may have to take a bit more of a loss, which seems crazy to me. He is only 25. Let him get some cup games and games against lower tier and get some good minutes and sell him in January. I think he still has a lot to give even if he doesnt thrive in Favre system.

Rode deal all but done for Eintracht.
    Schurrle going to Russia.

Just gotta do something about Kagawa and Toprak (rumor is he will start against Bayern tomorrow with lingering injuries to the back line).

I have no clue what tomorrow will bring but I expect some goals from us and them.

I think the Philip deal with Dynamo was nixed. Unless they have rekindled interest.

Good for them. They came close to promotion last year.

Kicker says that the Philipp deal for 20 million € is done. I realize that the competition here got hopeless for him and his style wasn't a perfect fit for us but I still think he was one of our strongest finishers and one of the few threats outside the box.

Another candidate to leave is Toprak, apparently Bremen were interested. He didn't look that bad during preseason and you could see his motivation to get back into the rotation. But him leaving would create more opportunities for the younger players like Balerdi.

And good luck to Kagawa. His first two years for us were immense. Especially in his second year he was a major reason for the title, in my opinion. Although his case was understandble, he's another player who shouldn't have left us because his career wasn't the same after the move.

I can't watch the match tonight, but glad to see Weigl start.

Now onto the transfers. Really good news that we managed to move Philipp and Kagawa, both for the club and the players themselves. I think Philipp can reach a high level again, but like Ginter, it was too early and they were not at the level.

    Hopefully Toprak goes as well.

Hopefully we can ship Toprak. Has one good gave every 10. Technically we just have him and that massive flop Schürrle still on our books.

Apart from that we have Götze and Gurreiro in the last year of our contracts. We really need to extend with the latter. Our squad is still big but apart from those two at the top we need these guys to compete when some of them start dropping like flies.

Hummels has made us immediately competitive in offensive corners. He won more duels than all other players combined.
