I'm not looking forward to the first forfeit of a US victory when one of our players is lip read saying f*ck after missing a shot.

    But fair is fair.

I mean Trapp and Bradley don’t exactly have a great first step either. He’s def much bigger than them tho and that’s why he isn’t quick. He will have to improve positionally from the little I’ve seen. As far as goal or tricks that’s got nothing to do with being the type of 6 he’d be asked to be so that means little to me. Will be interested to see if anyone’s given a chance there or if it’s right back to Bradley and Trapp in the coming friendlies.

I think an interesting compromise instead of pretzling the whole team around Pulisic roaming is to have at least one of the wingers good enough in both a winger position and midfield that when Pulisic goes wide the other player can take his spot. I think Boyd might be able to do that but I'm not sure how good he is at CM. I think Pomykal would be very good at the CM part but am unsure how well he could play as a left winger internationally. Flipping it where Pulisic is wide and Pomykal could go wide when Pulisic cuts in would be a better fit. Having a bunch of players able to interchange and make it hard for teams to mark them would be ideal.

I like Weah as one of the wingers because he's a tweener. The other winger needs to be more of a creator. That leaves the center forward and Weah to make runs and finish crosses etc. I think a lot of the up and comers fit well together and the coach won't have to strain himself creating odd formations and shifts to fit everyone together. This is not insignificant. many times teams have some of their best players all play a few positions. The US has had it before when the defense was good or the offense but the last few cycles those have alternated and when added together make a nice whole.

If John Nelson hadn't gotten injured he might have started making a case for left back. He's not where Cannon is yet but it's left back where weeds growing behind buildings get consideration. Cannon impressed a couple years ago but somehow couldn't earn time. The next year FCD cleared out his competition and he started all year. Now everyone is seeing him for the US. Now what you're not seeing is how he slowly builds up his offensive game once he feels comfortable with his defending at each new level. I also haven't seen anyone really get him going because it just makes him play better and harder each hack.

Will the US ever finish another game? The last gold cup final against Jamaica it was the US fans shouting Put0. When I confronted the jackasses in front of me I was told “ This is a tradition”

I wonder when AO will start throwing piss bottles and batteries.

Thats why we are fans. I thought he had good tournament and gold cup ain't shady tournament at all. If other players not named zardes, bradley, ream got a look, we might have more offers for our players.

That's a good reason to give MLS players caps. Not sure it's a great reason as it could easily keep a more deserving player on the outside looking in. Also doubt that is why Berhalter played some of the MLS'ers he played.
